Is this the final chapter in the Kobe Bryant Savage Moment series? At least for awhile... Earlier this week was what would have been Kobe Bryant's 43rd birthday and it seems the world still misses him more than ever. To celebrate his day of birth the NBA posted some stories told from current players of some type of encounter they had with Kobe early in their career which I thought was really cool and have spread each story out through this compilation video. The players included are Steph Curry, Kyrie Irving, Demar Derozan, John Wall and Damian Lillard. Kyrie breaks down a moment that has since gone viral and was featured in one of the early editions of this series where he tries to convince/beg Kobe to play him 1 on 1. Kobe's reaction is pretty much exactly what you expect..
Other content featured in this video includes the epic "Shirt in mouth Kobe" that has become a special version of the Mamba used for epic memes. There are also 2 great stories told from one player I loved Caron Butler and one player I didn't, Gilbert Arenas. Caron only played with Kobe for one year but the two instantly became close because Kobe respected Butler right away. Caron himself is a bench coach for the Miami Heat and has one of the best from Rags to Riches stories I've ever heard from a professional athlete which you can familiarize yourself with by either reading or googling "Tuff Juice," which happens to be one of my favorite books.
Kobe stories make for almost instant viral content, which is why more and more seem to be emerging as time passes so we all can still remember what it is to have the Mamba Mentality. I conclude this video with an often forgotten, but in my opinion, classic Kobe Bryant commercial that embraces that very Mamba Mentality that everyone loves.
