Truly creative use of the biscuit joiner. I forgot the one guys name, but he uses a biscuit joiner to make dados. He starts it where he wants it, then just runs it down the entire piece for panels and such.

@@jasonc2376 Oh, that's a useful little "gold nugget" of info. Thank you for sharing that one! I could see using that to set the edges of a groove, then cleaning between with a router plane. You got my mental wheels spinning!

Its not expensive. We got the same kind of iron with our company name. Look into laser engravers than irons, as laser engraver has many many more functions

I was thinking the exact same thing, and in fact I've made a mirror almost like this one _with_ a french cleat running the full length of the top. It wasn't until the end that I realized he designed it to _lean_ on a wall, and not hang.With it leaning, then the french cleat wouldn't work-well, unless you jiggered with the cleat angle VERY carefully. Another benefit of using a cleat is that the bottom can't swing away from the wall, as the angle of the cleat keeps it pressed firmly against the wall at the bottom.

That's not a problem if you don't hold the button like an idiot, you can control the strength

@@leolrq1846 Helps to know your wood too. Air dried white oak no problem; kiln dried red oak may be brittle & split.

Wtf man. I love working with hand tools but there is truly no shame in using powertools... I think Kobe is a true cratsman. Its not like hes using a cnc for all the joinery.

Why? Cause he used a tablesaw, domino and biscuit joiner? Have you watched any of his other videos!? Good luck finding something like this at ikea.
