PAC 750 XSTOL has limited visibility being low wing and it hasn't got amphibious floats option. Plus it's slower (AFAIK) and a bit more thirsty, so the bigger payload is "eaten" at about 600 km or so. STOL is marginally better with XSTOL. I don't know if XSTOL has ice protection option. Pilatus PC-6 Porter has smaller payload and range and is much slower, albeit much better STOL. Cessna 208 Grand Caravan is heavier and I think it must be too cramped if you stuff in 13 people. Bubble windows for Kodiak would be really nice. Kodiak has either considerably larger payload or considerably longer range than GippsAero GA10 Airvan (Mahindra), which in reality isn't a 10 seater if you look at the payload range. It does use considerably less fuel with the 450 shp Rolls-Royce (Allison) M250. Whether that turbine is as reliable as the proven PT6 I don't know, but it is one of the most common turbines. So, it does seem that Kodiak is the best bush workhorse running on Jet fuel. Stall is not too bad on Kodiak either, I think...though it must be rather manageable on these others too.
