Koel - Dil Ka Diya Jalaya 

This is the only Khayal (form of classical music) ever recorded by Madam Ji. She sang it in her 30s. The youthfulness of her voice and her angelic looks are beyond praise!!!

Back in the 90s, my dad was really strict and serious. I remember once when this song came on PTV, my dad stopped what he was doing and got all nostalgic, just saying haye, haye... I never saw him do that before or after. It's been a few years since he passed, and sometimes when I'm alone and missing him, I look up this song and listen to it.. What a legend Nur Jahan..

It was the year 1967 when we were the second year students at esteemed Islamia college Peshawar. There was no TV in those days. We were four rommates in the hostel. I remember the evening when we listened this so sweet song on radio in the hostel commen room . All praised and liked it. To our fortune all of the four are still alive. Alas! quite a few of the hostel fellows in whose company we used to walk , dine and proceed towards the classrooms 55 years ago have passed away. The memories of the moments we laughed together tear us sometimes tragically.
