The King of Fighters '96 (SNK, Neo Geo) - Released July 30, 1996, is a fighting game produced by SNK for their Neo Geo arcade board and home console. It is the third title in the KOF series and continues the events of The King of Fighters '95. Some changes were made to the gameplay like technical notes, team changes and the introduction of some new characters as well. The team had some issues during the development of the game and it was only ready weeks before release.
Here was the peak of popularity of Neo Geo and SNK. 1996 was the year in which it got the most games and sold the most units worldwide.
