Kohaku isn't overrated, it's a very nice board. It is overpriced however. Base price of $500+ is steep to start with then the $1.2k aftermarket price is insanity. It's really nice but I have a hard time justifying paying $1.2k for it.

As with a lot of luxury items, feels like you are also paying for the name as well. I also hate how some people justify it saying that the insane prices are aftermarket, I mean lets be honest, aftermarket is the most realistic way for someone to get a kohaku anyway, even if I had the money for it it won’t matter if I can’t even buy it in the first place cuz I can’t win the raffle. Even then, the retail/gb price is still pretty steep for what it is

I love the way the Kohaku sounds, but I’m not a fan of how the weight stretches up onto the board. It looks like a wonky crown 😂

Hi there, my pc kohaku's alphas are a bit muted with the nixies and alu plate. Any tips to get it clackier ?

Long pole switches. Maybe hmx xinhai. Or if you want a little bit of scratch try kailh BCP. For me pc always sounds more muted. I like the look a lot of the pc version, but alu just sounds better to me.

stellar sounding board!! also, if anybody knows of a guide to die your switches, would love to know about it! Have some disassembled broken in Nixies, and am now contemplating dyeing them before I lube and film.
