The death penalty isn't what we think it is. They sit there for yrs and cost the tax payers so much money. I think in my opinion that if the person is absolutely guilty they get the death penalty it needs to be carried out within a certain amount of time. Otherwise what's the point?

That's actually a very strong point, because I assume you would need a professional cleaning team to remove all DNA after such a crime. Remember they don't talk about cleaning up some regular dirt, they talk about DNA. I'm not an expert but I assume removing a lot of DNA is not even remotely as easy as most people might think.

I believe he had an oversuit on like painters, etc...and stripped it off before getting in his car, putting it in a plastic bag with knife.and weights/bricks...dumped them somewhere. With snow everywhere he could "wash" his hands wiith it before getting in his car He still cleaned his car inside with chemicals, was said. Maybe the rumors are true… and Bethany DID see a naked (or at least almost-naked) guy running around… because he stripped, put his clothes (or big black onesie) in a bag, and ran to the car. Then took the long route home to dispose of stuff along the way.

Personally, I know that if I planned a mass murder, like this, I would be smart enough to not leave victim DNA in my apartment or car. I would have done something like wear coveralls and have clothes underneath and then remove the coveralls and throw them in a big trash bag and throw my gloves in the trash bag. I thought of that before finishing this video and he would’ve had potentially months to plan this out. Overall this murderer did a pretty good job of planning out the DNA aspect because he didn’t leave DNA under fingernails and he managed not to cut himself. My guess is that he wore long sleeves, gloves, and a face mask so that it would be very difficult for victims to make contact with his skin and he chose a knife with a hilt so that his hand wouldn’t slide down onto the blade. He didn’t preplan for the chaos of an adrenaline rush tho and he made the huge mistake of leaving the sheath. I think it’s likely that that’s what Bryan came back for the following morning but didn’t find it. I just hope that we don’t get any jurors dumb enough to believe that a lack DNA on Bryan’s personal property is evidence of innocence. I can’t help but think that the only reason Bryan’s defense mentioned this supposed lack of DNA on Bryan’s property is to influence the public in a way that won’t violate the gag order because the information wasn’t meant for the public but they know that all court documents are being reviewed by the public

I agree, by how we can track DNA these days, that’s a good point. But he could have just worn more protection, not gone back… he does understand how DNA evidence works. Defends is doing their homework. All it takes it’s a spark of doubt…

Really good and right decision to allow the cameras in the trial. I hope this decision also remains. That lack of DNA is a big deal, but on the other hand, Koberger was most obviously protected, so he could have taken off any gloves, outer clothing, shoes etc. before getting in the car. He was in contact with his victims through his knife and just walked around the house and opened a few doors. Blood must have flown on him, of course, but as said, he hardly got into his car with bloody clothes, shoes, gloves, etc. When you seal them tightly in a bag already outside the car, it's quite possible that you won't find any traces, especially if you still clean carefully. And although Kohberger could not avoid e.g. information transmitted by his phone, surveillance cameras, etc., he still knows much through his studies.

Really, he could have been completely covered with a set of clothes he threw away. He was aware of most of the important ways to get away with murder.

So, I get everyone’s dilemma about there being no victims DNA in his car or apartment. However, remember when his parent’s home was raided at 4am, BK was found sitting in his underwear at the kitchen table sorting through the trash and removing everything that had his DNA on it and putting it in plastic baggies. Or that he’d been observed going to nearby neighbors houses, again in the middle of the night, and putting trash in their garbage cans. This is typical, normal behavior we all do, right? I don’t even think a weirdo would do that, only someone who’s guilty of a crime and is doing their best to not get caught. Like other commenters have stated, he knew from his extensive research and studies how to best “clean” himself up. I believe he honestly thought he’d pulled off the perfect crime. Only problem with that is there’s no such thing! It exists only in the minds of the criminal.

Taylor is just fishing… trying to find out if the state has more DNA evidence from all those different locations. The state doesn’t need to give that info up yet, and some of the samples might still be in the process of being analyzed. Taylor will have to wait like everyone else for any additional results. As soon as she requested information for exculpatory evidence & suggested he might have an alibi, the state trickled a little bit of information out about his buccal swab matching the DNA at the crime scene. BOOM! The state wants no doubt in anyone’s mind that they have the right suspect, so expect the trickling of information to continue. The prosecution & defense will be playing this cat and mouse game all the way up to the trial.

The key wording is “there is no explanation for the absence of DNA found at defendants apartment office home or car’. That means there is also no evidence of cleaning agents having been used on the car. Boom.

There should be no decision to make for such a case.. why would anyone want the person who committed the crime to be an ongoing burden on society for the rest of their life? If guilty, he forfeited his right to exist the moment he committed the crimes.

Note: the prosecutors will not, in fact, "kill him." And, Ann....there is a simple explanation for why investigators didn't find the victims' DNA in Kohberger's apartment or on his personal effects: He threw away the clothes he was wearing before gettin into his car.

Hello. Mr Criminologist i.e. Bryan Kohberger. This man called Bryan Kohberger qualified and has his degree in criminology. Further he was studying murderers, he had a gruesome questionnaire drawn up for his studies. He was doing his PhD. He studied crime scenes! He wore gloves in Pennsylvania and took the everyday run of the mill garbage out, in the dark, and threw the trash into the neighbours trash bins!!! This man is calculating and it shows that he was one step ahead cleaning his tracks behind him. At that time, he did not know the FBI had him under surveillance. But he was being extra careful. If the FBI had not witnessed what Bryan was doing, nobody would know. Then it IS possible, NOT impossible he knew what to wear and what to do at the murder crime scene, etc. Explain the Probable Cause Affidavit. Bryan's dna matches the dna found on the button snap by quantillions. We need to ask did anyone help Bryan? We also have nearly an eight hour gap from when the murders happened until the 911 call was made. Quite abit of clean up time. I would reinvestigate everyone Kaylee, Madison, Xana and Ethan knew or had friendships with, people in their circles. People who hung around with them, ex's, people who had grudges against them, etc.

Didn't one of the survivors claim to see the killer on his way out? So what did she say he was wearing on his body? And yeah, defense is basically saying the lack of physical evidence in certain places IS evidence. Pretty simple concept to claim and fairly simple to counter too, you know, since it is supposition.

There is no DNA, no because he wasn't at the killing site, there is no DNA because he planned for to be no DNA, why the only finger prints or DNA was only found on the button but no in any other place , meaning the person who owns this knife makes sure that no any fingers prints or DNA ever is on this knife sheath , he could had done the same thing with the car. what happen to the shower curtain ? there was ever any shower curtain in that apartment ever ? did he ever bought a shower curtain for that apartment ? if he had done this before, that probably he has , he probably knew the amount of blood and how to protect himself from the blood. did he cover his seat and car floor with bathroom curtain and something else ? did he wore a raincoat or overall ? he did wore gloves . was he carrying anything with him when he leave the house ? I believe he went to the supermarket after the murders, no really for shopping but to use the dumpster that was at the Burger king next to the supermarket , where all that garbage get dumped or it gets incinerated ? This guy sit on that Court Room like he is a poker player , if he really was innocent he would had been spilling all the beans and claiming innocent , specially when 4 people were killed and he is the #1 suspect .
