There was a recall on infant formula so definitely check. Sunscreen that is mineral only can be used passed the expiration date. Keep one of those styrofoam coolers in the back of your car in summer when you go grocery shopping. It is great for keeping meats, ice cream, and cheeses cold until you get home. 💖🌹💄👝

The “expiration dates” are actually dates that those products have to be removed from the shelves. Canned products are just like the things that were canned by your mom or gramma. They normally don’t expire. Chips and other things are still good after that use by or best by date. Bottled water does not expire. Even dairy products. White milk is good usually a week after the date on it. Chocolate milk won’t last quite as long as white milk, but it is still good after the date. Frozen products normally don’t go bad in the freezer. But if taken out of the freezer, should be used within 2-3 days. No product can be good one day and bad the next day. It happens gradually. Hope this helps all you divers.

Actually, the reason there is an expiry date on water bottles is that they are made with plastic that is intended to break down over time, and so the products are not considered safe anymore (once past date).

This stuff they are getting from the dumpsters are called “damages” these items are either broken, expired or used and obviously a store can’t give away damaged items for health and safety reasons. The items that are new and the store no longer has it in their planogram get sent back to companies for their money back. If the store can not receive money back for brand new items that they still have don’t just throw them away like you think, they go into donation boxes. They don’t just throw away brand new good usable items. If you’ve ever worked in retail you’d understand.

The ceramic inserts and lids from the crock pots are worth grabbing... they are glass and break fairly easily. If you can get them free and sell them for $15 plus shipping, people will pay it vs paying $40-70 for a new one. Not a huge money maker, but "free" money.

good to see you guys. those styrofoam coolers are awesome for taking things places you don't need to return with a cooler, like food to a party. my grampa kept them for fishing so he could keep the fish out of grammas good coolers lol. they make great packing material too because it's the sturdy stuff. love the throw blanket it looks snugly. people forget sometimes those display units might be real or have sellable parts. great finds

Nicole are you talking about the Jaqueline Hill lipsticks when you were noticing the bubbles in the lipstick. Honestly a few air bubbles are ok, the chunks & hairs people found gave me shivers but that's just because I'm a makeup artist & former surgical tech so non sterile stuff freaks me out.

PLEASE wear GLOVES - even if you're using a grabber; I've watched a TON of these diver videos and in some areas store managers and some staff are getting vicious. Broken glass mixed in with other items so someone digging around will cut themselves and it's not accidental because of the way it's almost layered. So please - wear gloves.

Lots of animal shelters are doing winter shelter builds right now for cats and they use those styrofoam coolers. One man's trash is another cat's house!

The water reservoirs on those Keurigs are probably worth money as well as the trays that go underneath of the cups and also the place where you put the K-Cup. When you push that whoopee cushion and laughed I was just rolling. LOL! I love your laugh!

This is just a passing thought, but you could donate those "dummy" displays to local community or High school theater groups to use as props. Come to think of it, if you find appliances that you can't fix, they might take some of those too.

Definitely can be repurposed as "for parts only." Sometimes people just need a replacement part, like a handle, knob, etc. And don't forget scrap metal!

I do not know if it gets cold were you live (I do not know were you live) but these containers are great for making shelters for stray cats in the winter. The ones that can not be caught and placed in a home. Total different subject, I know 😉, but they are nice and warm for them. Cut a hole in one of the sides, put a blanket in it and voila. 😃 (and feed the cats ofcourse and have them neutered by an organisation).

Expirations are for shelf life at store. Still good when you have at home. I worked in store for years.

You can use that expired coffee in your refrigerator and freezer to keep them smelling fresh. Just open and stick in.

I was thinking the same thing!!!! Donate to a family emergency shelter, homeless shelter, Woman's abuse shelter, Children's shelter. So much in the Land Fills that could be of use to so many people. Such a SHAME.

Because it's against regulations and if they donate they won't get a write off with the product companies. Example if things from Just My Size, does not sale. If they throw it away. They will get the money back for stuff not sold. If they donate it no money back from the companies for items that didn't sale. Though they can and would get a large tax write off on it.

Might suggest holding onto a couple coolers for food. In your regular shopping and diving. These wiegh next to nothing so no gas worry due to weight.

sunscreen has a shelf life of 3 years and it can even last longer if you store it properly and if it has not been open so these should be just fine . BUt shake them virgously before first use and if they smell off toss but I have had same sunscreen for 5 years and they work great

Most of that stuff had clearances out at 90% off at the end of September. The make up bags were filled with samples and coupons and it was a freebie when you spent $30 on certain makeup products.

Whenever you find broken earphones or cords/cables/chargers that don't work after you test them, don't throw it in the trash! Best Buy recycles all electronics, they usually have a container just inside the entrance to drop your cables in.

Kat Hollifield can also take to a scrap yard to turn into money when get enough.They pay so much a pound and if they get some with a cord that don’t work cut it off and can strip that wire for bare bright and make more per pound depending on what their state pays for scrap wire and any metals stuff can scrap for money if they know how to tell what kind and separate it at home.

You don't check all the bags still and also when you open the bags you don't remove everything.. Carry bags with so you can put the donation into. Not all sweets are bad for you if you eat in small amounts.

I paid over $300 for that exact same NEATO vacuum and it works great. The buttons are touch buttons not push. If you can find the charging station for it, that is a definite score.

I love that your kohl’s doesn’t have a compactor.. most of the places around me have them and it’s awful.. plus there’s 4-6 other divers I have met at ulta. One of the only places that doesn’t have a compactor (and they always beat me to everything) smh. Love your videos

The Kohl’s stuff is probably last years demo model, so they use the latest model. Some could be discontinued, and some returns that didn’t work right

For the most part canned goods, lotions, vitamins etc are preserved so well and have such a long shelf life they put expiration dates to ensure reordering so they dont go out of business

We sold out of the make up promo at my store here in California, they probably put the makeup out on the floor or they got sent back to the warehouse. And outdates are done every week. And baby formula is always returned to the warehouse.

When I dumpster dive I immediately start to share with family and friends. I remember once hitting a dumpster filled with trash bags full of red baron and Tony's pizzas still frozen. I loaded my car up and made 5 stops before I got home each house got at least 15 pizzas. Its sickening the amount of good food is thrown away. To keep that amount of stuff is just greedy.

Those styrofoam containers often come with drugs, and supplements that have to stay cold during transportation and go into fridges in the pharmacy once they arrive. You may also be able to sell those glass lids from crockpots too. They are easily broken.

In that first dumpster, (CVS) that white rack you should have grabbed. I know many people, (me included) use these for scrapbooking/craft rooms. I’d pay $40-$50 for that! Something to think about. Even if the bottom is missing, you can make feet. My husband did it for me. Anyways, just a thought.

If food says best before it does not mean you shouldn’t eat it, just that it is at its best before that date. If it says use by you must eat food by that date.

The jugs from ninjas are worth money, so are the detachable drainers (as you said) and the detachable water holders, basically any parts you can easily take from them like in the Tassimo's there'sa nozzle inside it that can be taken out to clean, but they bung up and even with regular cleaning and descaling eventually need replacing. If the coffeemakers have those TAKE them - they're about £10 here in the UK which is about $13, get a few and it starts to add up. Any detachable parts always break and are worth cash because people would rather replace those cheaper parts than the whole expensive coffeemaker (I speak from bitter experience! LOL!). Same goes for those expensive blender things too.

Epsom salt is really great for gardening, put a spoonful with some water and pour over the base of your Rose's or tomato plants every two weeks It puts missing minerals back into the plant giving you richer redder Rose's or bigger juicer tomatoes!

Wow all this stuff would end up in a landfill, and that is sad. So much could be donated and recycled. Businesses should be required to recycle.

I keep saying this but I love that you always talk about donating. It would be cool if you shot a video of all the stuff you were donating from dumpster diving. Shelters, on the streets, thrift shops.
