You sir have done two things spectacularly: 1) You have recreated that OP so faithfully that I almost can see the series being fully animated 2) You have awoken some deep seeded trauma that I didnt know I had with KKHTA ... Thank you
Dont you just love it when a little series that looks like it was made in 2 hours slowly becomes one of the most emotionally scarring pieces of touhou media out there?
Man what a nice touhou animation with koishi and her friends, hopefully nobody goes crazy and do a genocide, it'll be sad if it were to happen, amiright?
seeing the original intro animated like this... felt like i was having a fever dream. This is well-made. The details do stay true to the original aesthetics.
Yeah I totally agree! It really is one of the best interpretations of the artstyle that I have seen here on RU-vid :D Another interesting and really well made interpretations of it is this meme animation from a couple moths ago, it's really great!! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-D5hZQjTX9m8.html
@@eightful Knowing Touhou by itself wouldn't be that because this is the Fan content of the series. And that means it's only bad if know what this Fan contentis
This feels like it shouldn't even be possible... I would've thought that KKHTA would look weird in motion, but you animated it beautifully while capturing the charm of the original style. It's even still recognisable as something made by you! This is literally perfect.
To me, KKHTA has become something akin to an urban legend. I always hear people talking about how depressing and soul crushing it is, and I have developed a genuine fear for to watching it.
@Susu In the first half, yeah KKHTA is an offouttingly drawn touhou sniff animatic. But I'd argue somewhere around ep. 15 or 16 it actually found its stride a little with the art and telling its strange narrative.
While KKHTA is really not for everyone since it has SO much gore and horrible stuff that deserve content warnings, the way the history it's developed, the art style, the music selection, and the sheer weirdness and creepines of it all makes it something really special, one of those horror histories you are not used to seeing now in days, and a piece of art that specially to the end has a lot to say about existentialism and the human condition, if you have the stomach to put up with all the grotesqueness of this work, you will end up finding a comic that may make you rethink many things and have a different view of the world, I personally recommend it :)
What a nice day. Perfect day for Koishi to go fishing with her best friends, all she has to do is get a fishing rod. Oh hey, let's ask Meiling over there! The Scarlet Devil Mansion totally has a spare. KKHTA is the definition of "I'm in Spain without the p."
@@mimicyn Dude that would be amazing!! Making a proyect in community to animate each chapter of KKHTA and improve and fix some of its most important problems would be amazing!!! I imagine something like when the community made the Touhou fan anime
For those who wanna know the context, this is based upon a psychological horror Touhou fan comic called Koishi Komeji's Heart Throbbing Adventure, I highly recommend it if you like dark and twisted and somehow philosophical artworks, but I have to warn you, it has a lot of gore and over sensitive things so is not for the faint oh heart
I can imagine some poor person who's never heard of Touhou hearing/seeing this and thinking, "What a cute-looking series, I wanna watch this!" before showing this song to their Touhou friend, who starts breaking down into tears upon hearing this song.
I know this is following the joke the rest of the comments are making, but do you seriously think they’ll expect it to be innocent with parts like 0:55 and onward?
i love how you can tell that there is some thing wrong with the state of the characters minds by looking at there eyes and the eyes in all the background props lookin sinsiters
I love the detail of the original comic of associating Koishi with those weird heart-eyes, is such an weirdly fitting characteristic of Koishi's character that I had seen a lot of fan works that doesn't have to do with KKHTA using it!
oh boy a perfectly wholesome outing with one of the most popular and beloved characters, Koishi Komeiji from the hit game Subterranian Animism developed by Project Alice and ZUN, I hope it will be a memorable and light-hearted story inline with what we usually see from the characters in the Touhou series.
For those curious it's original source is from 1997 anime called "Yume no Crayon Oukoku". (It plays during the opening). Sadly however, I couldn't find a credible source for a definitive English translation.
What a horrifying thing to wake up to… but I’m happy for it! It’s funny how this became something that may or may have traumatized me, and now I look back on it and smile! I love this.
Im sorry but i will never kame someone who thinks the goofy ahh edgy scribble drawings from 2008 where byakuren talks about genocide with kung fu fighting pkaying in the background is scary seriously, evah.
Man Pear, you are really one of those artists that I just cannot stop from going back to your stuff over and over. Always felt like a strength of animation in general
YOOOOOO THIS IS AMAZING!!!! ITS SO WELL ANIMATED IT'S ACTUALLY GREAT I LOVE THE WAY YOU INTERPRETED THE ORIGINAL ART STYLE And also I'm so glad to see KKHTA getting more the recognition it deserves!!!
I was pretty new to Touhou, tryna get to know the characters and such... Just so happened i had Koishi as a favorite back then, (she still is) so Koishi Komeiji's Heart Throbbing Adventure was the third series I watched ...after Osana Reimu and Rereimu. Yeah, the emotional whiplash on that one was crazy.
What a lovely animation! I'm sure it won't be related to a traumatizing and gorey story about an entire Japanese locale going mad and murdering each other! :D
KKHTA is, unfortunately, how I got into Touhou. A friend had a KKHTA Koishi pfp, I didn’t know what it was, and so I asked him where it’s from. Instead of saying “Touhou” like how a normal person would, he says “Koishi Komeiji's Heart-Throbbing Adventure”. Yeah…
It was wonderful all the way till the end, it mada me smile, all the characters were so charming and i feel so happy seeing how you made this. Thanks for always making this animations!
i didnt know the creator of "gravity is a harness", "koishi storyboard draft" and "my little pogchamp" is the same person and now they recreated the kkhta intro
The fact that I didn't know nothing about Touhou, watched this animation without ANY knowledge and started investigatin and now its my favorite franchise really gets to shown the power artists have on people, Thank you Pear.
I love this type of stuff. The music never changed and it never truly dropped the facade. It just showed a glimpse past it without revealing everything.
Seeing one of my favorite animators animate a scene in a rather niche Touhou fanseries is so heartwarming to me! I never thought KKHTA would be brought up again, I'm so happy to see you giving it some love!
If you want to see more of where that darkness comes from you should totally give it a read to the comic this animation is based on, Koishi Kojeimi's Heart Throbbing adventure, tough I warn you, it has a lot of gore and almost every single content warning imaginable
so always when a very good music by koishi koishi komeiji touhou part 6 of the original video but this is a good animation xd always like that of the games when it is happy but a little sad and then they get so crazy xd
Yep , I sure Hope this animation isn't what make Koishi in fanon a completly different character then in canon Also fishing is nice and relaxing , so what could go wrong
I have never heard or seen this show but all the colors, backgrounds, and shapes in the beginning remind me too much of how I used to draw as a kid, using basic plain colors
you should watch it! it's pretty cute! ¡It's called Koishi Komeiji's Heart Throbbing Adventure! [One of those statements was a lie, can you tell which one?}
wow such memories of the game and music of koishi komeiji always so I think the original is part 6 and now this is a very epic animation I think many people will always like it so many remember in music
As a Touhou fan, I believe we're all impressed by KKHTA (no matter loving it or hating it, we still love Touhou yeah?). But since viewers of this video aren't all Touhou fans and many people wants to share it, I have some worries. Well, I mean, people who aren't that knowledgeable about Touhou might start to have misunderstandings about the series or even hating it when they begin to watch KKHTA, because KKHTA is not that suitable for everyone. So, as a Touhou fan, I think, those who feel like to recommend KKHTA (including me of course lol) to people who aren't Touhou fans, should first emphasize that KKHTA is a fan derivative work of Touhou series, and maybe do some explaining about what Touhou is. This is a more appropriate way to share this great story and Touhou in my opinion.
If you want to know the context from where this comes is from an psychological horror Touhou fan comic called Koishi Kojeimi's Heart Throbbing adventure, that is where the more creepy elements comes from!!
