My beloved father passed away 2 days ago after having to fight cancer for 18 months and to survive 50 chemotherapies. I couldn‘t press out any tears since he passed away but once I came across this song it suddenly all fell off of me. Thanks zelda for reminding me of my childhood where everything was just good. Thanks! Yeah, this melodica naturally has a very shrill tone, so I have to mess around with the EQ a lot to get it to sound a little warmer. Generally I just make a wide boost around the 500 hz area, and then I make a cut somewhere between 2 and 3 k, as that's where most of the hissiness seems to reside. I also add a low pass band and pull it down until I can hear a slight change in tone. Then I just add some IR reverb (for this video I used the Large and Dark Hall impulse from the...

I record all of the instruments through Reaper while I record video using a Canon 60D. Then after I mix everything in Reaper, I use Adobe Premiere Elements to synchronize the final audio track with the videos I recorded.

Thanks! I just have a bunch of different black line templates that I created in Photoshop Elements. Each template is 1920 x 1080 px and has a transparent background. So if I need to split the screen into thirds, I just roughly lay out the videos in Premiere (doesn't matter if they overlap) and then lay down the corresponding line template on top of it so that the divisions are nice and even. Hope that makes sense.

I didnt make it far in the Ocarina of Time 3DS remake, but I remember when I was really young and watching my older brother play, as I had yet to get a 3DS, he went into Kakariko village. I didnt really say anything but I remember kind of gently humming along to the music as my brother spoke to the NPCs, finishing up some sidequests he had started earlier. Now, there arent many things in life that make me feel that odd, warm, nostalgic feeling, at least not yet, but this song just makes me wish I could go back. I want to do things differently. I want to relive my favorite moments in life, but... I guess that's not exactly how life works huh? This song, especially your cover, really makes me have to just sit down for a while and think. Think back to when I was younger and life wasn't constant stress and anxiety. I cant describe the emotional connection I have to this song, but I think the closest approximation would be if you had a pet that you absolutely loved more than anything, but one day it just disappears. However, for whatever reason, you dont feel sad. You dont feel depressed, because you know that you and that pet made the most of however years you had together. I hope I dont sound overdramatic, but hey. That's the point of being a teenager, right?

Thanks! The melodica that I'm using in this video is a Hohner Student 32. I think it was around 30 or 40 dollars.

Mr. JFKremix is right, it's a polycarbonate Mountain ocarina. I needed to use two ocarinas to cover the range that was required in this piece, so one's in the key of C and the other is in the key of G.

I love this song, it' s one of my favorites in the game.. It' s so calm and soothing, and it almost makes you forget that the village where you live sits right next to a haunted graveyard, and its inhabitants drink water from a haunted well, which has been polluted by decomposition fluids...

Ocarina of Time is such an emotional game; so epic; it's like reliving an actual epic event that happened over the course of a year 20 years ago, and reminiscing on it. I think the music is a huge part of that.

I don't think it took me too long, but the holes on my ocarina are in a really logical order, so it was pretty easy to work out. Plus, I had the fingering charts that came with the instrument to refer to.

If Mr. Kondo and Kenji Yamamoto had a musical baby, life would need no other music.

Maybe I can try to put together some bare-bones sheet music for this one. I have a lot of other sheet music projects that I'm working on though, so I'm not sure how long it'll take or if I'll even have time to get to it any time soon, but I'll make a note of it at least!
