Koka Nikoladze you asked for it😆... 1. I’m assuming that you’re speaking Georgian which is an interesting language in its own right but for me it’s more about the sounds. Tom Waits will sometimes convey a feeling/thought into his own language and he calls it subvocalizing. I don’t have to know what you’re saying. The feeling/intention is very strong. 2. The percussion is completely organic just like one of your beat machines. You recorded each sample long so you can play with the length and the decay which not only changes the character of the sample but it also plays on how they interact with each other. This was obviously not by chance. 3. The motion (or lack of) that you added to each sample as you recorded helps them flow together. I can guess that you specifically chose a different space in the frame for each object occupy for visual and for sonic purposes with everything recorded with one stationary mic. This plays out like a moving collage and even though some of beats may be similar you barely repeat anything. 4. It’s a surreal to begin with but you play off that with the lens work and by adding a touch of effects. 5. It’s simple and complex at the same time. The percussion part obviously required a significant amount of work but it’s basically three or four tracks without a whole lot of effects or embellishment. The parts themselves and how they develop together is what makes this really interesting which brings me to my final point... 6. There was a very brief moment when I was watching the first time that I thought it was too long but then it sucked me right back in and I never had that thought again - like it thought me a lesson. I immediately realized that the arraignment was going to reveal some surprises and a layer of anticipation was added to the experience. This track is over 8 minutes long but it commanded my attention the whole time even though it’s one stationary camera aiming at the same space. That’s not a easy thing to do.... and it’s just a great track✌️

Cash Mattock and thanks for reflecting on the length problem. I like long tracks of other artists, but specifically those where the length serves the dramaturgic purpose. I believe that hiphop and rap has that poorly explored long-form capacity. And at some point it will blow up, as long-form blew up in podcast. Sometimes, when you invite your listener into the world you create, you must give them time to stay with you there - the concept of hospitality.
