Gopi, the submissive, naive and illiterate woman is the protagonist whereas Rashi, the educated, sharp-minded(not always though, but compared to Gopi, yes) is the villain just because she primarily doesn't prefer to wear sarees. I'm going to be honest - I always loved Rashi and hated Gopi like anything. And I preferred Rashi and Jigar's marriage life over this toxic relationship between Gopi and Ahem. Oh and another reason why Rashi is supposed to be the villain is that she doesn't know how to cook, which is apparently the only job women are destined to do in their lives, right? I'm not sure whether you have heard of this or not, but in the 1st episode of this show, Kokila ridicules, harrases and insults a suitable woman for Ahem just because she is of modern ideology type and would control Ahem, because Kokila wanted "A woman who would always say yes to me and would have no control over her own husband. Only I have my power over my Ahem Dikra." And the worst part about this whole scene was that the woman's parents weren't even intervening during this. They were just chill. And now in Sasural Simar Ka 2, this same garbage is being portrayed. Like the ideology and thought process of people have changed. We are not in the 1990's where "Ladki ko to sirf rasoi mein khana banane ka kaam hi to hai jab uska pati office jaayega". I don't think you have to be a feminist to understand this. This is common sense. And these shows showcase "Women Empowerment". Ohh the irony!!!! Sorry for typing such a long reply.😅😅
