Mostly because Muzan gave most of his blood to the upper moons and even then he is powerful, but not as powerful as his prime counterpart who had all his blood plus no injuries. Bruv listen, u can't deny that Yoriichi would still beat Muzan and Kokushibo's few final words were that "I just wanted to be like you Yoriichi", bro even told Gyomei that I haven't seen anyone as strong as you since 400 years and he was obviously talking about Yoriichi. Muzan also said that none of the hashiras were even close to Yoriichi's level, Koku started taking things seriously by the end of the battle against Gyomei and Sanemi and Yoriichi single handedly speedblitzed him while being blind. And btw we never saw Yoriichi go all out, by going all out I mean struggling against anyone, Hashiras couldn't even keep up with a drugged Muzan and ur sayin Muzan is stronger. There's just no way that Kokushibo will ever be stronger than the demon king himself. Prime Muzan could have taken down all 9 pillars at once without much trouble, a feat I just don't see Kokushibo accomplish. Being the closest to someone doesn't mean rivalling that person(for instance, Michikatsu was the closest to Yoriichi, wich didn't mean that Yoriichi couldn't beat him without much trouble.) Moreover, it just wouldn't make any sense storywise, considering Koku is only upper moon 1, while he's definetly the closest demon to Muzan, he's not stronger than him.

Dude, saying that Kokoshibo is the closest to someone dosen’t mean they rival them, like mikicatchu was the closest to Yorrichi, but was still Majorly Inferior In comparison to yorrichi. Also, Muzan can smack Kokoshibo, when did they state that the monster form was so strong? When did they say it could Muzan? Also your forgetting that even if that wasn’t the case what I just said, Muzan obviously has control over Demons, and he transferred all his powers to DKT, so he would have that unique ability too. Kokoshibo with monster is upper moon 1 still. Muzan is the Demon King for a reason, as his full power from can solo the following at once- He can solo: Daki, Gyutaro, Kaiagu, Gyokko, Hantengu, Nakime, Akaza, Doma, and Kokoshibo because Muzan has so much power. Can Kokoshibo beat every pillar with Low-Mid difficulty when he was in his prime? No, I don’t think so. Kokoshibo let Akaza live in their blood battle because he states: “I enjoyed the CHALLENGE.” Would Muzan have a challenge? No. Would Demon King Tanjiro have a challenge? No. You said that DKT is just Muzan with the ability to live the sun. Would that be weaker in any way? It’s just Muzan’s forms and abilities, plus Tanjiro’s forms and abilities. These are Nermous facts that contribute to Muzan’s, or Demon King Tanjiro’s No difficulty win against Kokoshibo. Also when you wrote your power scales Yushiro was underrated.

@@Catvinity Yeah I agree that Muzan is a lot stronger than Kokushibo but it’s something to think about How I see it Shinobu stated that it takes 3 Hashiras to beat an Upper Moon however those are Base Hashiras not FP Hashiras which is how Muichiro Merks Gyokko Kokushibo was Taking on Gyomei Sanemi and Muichiro at the Same time while being Nerfed by Marechi Blood and Genya(Also Hashira Level) had to nerf him before they take him down Muzan while Poisoned took on the 4 Strongest Hashiras(Who were also Injured and Fatuiged) and had assist from 3 base Hashira Characters and was getting Pressed before he Suprised them with his Whips So Uppermoons 2-4 need 1-2 FP Hashiras to beat them Kokushibo needs 4 FP Hashiras to beat him Muzan needs 6-7 FP Hashiras to beat him Yorrichi would beat all of them Also FP means they have all the Boosts(Marked Red Blade and Transparent World)
