Every city has a smell, essence, fragrance, spirit, fervor and flavour...Kolkata accumulates the history of British India, the spirit of Nationalism, Revolution, Patriotism and Sacrifice. It makes memories and experiences. It's been long that I have chosen to stay out of the city. I have embraced the southern part of the country as my home, and, which is equally spectacular. Yet, there are times, when I miss walking, in Park Strret, my solitary self, gracing the yummy Double Chicken Roll, as I stopped to glance at the variety of literary collections of the roadside vendor....titles ranging from art to philosophy to science and religion. I would finish my roll, wanting desperately to have another, but giving my tummy little time to accommodate and make space.I would buy a novel and head for a chilled cola. Ahhhhhh... the sense of liberty and fun and freedom drenching my soul!!! At times, I would just comb through Gariahat, passing Traders Assembly, buy a Chicken Kaati Roll, window shopping, the loud cries of the hawkers,....' O didi, eta niye jaan, eta porle aapnake darun dekhaabe..' suppressing my smile but feeling gay and delighted... Haha....I would find it so funny....but equally intriguing. Flury's, New Market, the khushboo of the biriyani of Aminia, reaching the nostrils of every passerby, creating tides of hunger in the belly. Awww....the faloodas served in small palm leaf bowls in New Market, the colour and vigor of the clothes in the shops, the smell of kababs, urging you to have more, even when you are full. The phuckas in Southern Avenue, my dating years, the Masala thums up, and the newly emerging socialite crowd hanging around, constant banter of broken Bangla and English......sev puri, batata puri, bhel puri, ....the list is endless. Also a small bakery, almost old enough, with the crazy smell of baked delights at New Market. Kolkata, is politically active, socially laid back and professionally not much flexible. The working mindset is not too sincerely ambition driven, with the Babu culture evergreen. Fair enough, One need not be that ambitious as not to get oneself wet in the rain and munch on a paan..... to respond to the calling of the richly aloo stuffed samosas, rosogollas, amritis, and nalen gurer sandesh, paatishaaptas,...amidst a road full of pure soiled water, drowning in glory, chaotic buses plying in competition, ' just like bingo tede mere', maddening crowd, the screaming and the camaraderie of the lovers as they experience the first showers in Nandan ....the yellow taxis almost covered in pollution yet cosy to offer a seat to a tired soul. Oh my goodness, The city has since changed ...more people, more high rises, more pollution, more malls, more traffic.....yet the nostalgia remains fondly as ever. Ashish ji, the captivating video made me sit still for a while as I endeavored to look out of my large window. You made me fall in love. ... 'Amai dubaili re... Amai bhashaili re...' ' Bhalobashi,....bhalobashi'....

Hello Ashish Sir, I do not know what to say or comment on your vlogs. I have recently started following your vlogs and keep watching them whenever I get a chance. One thing that I can say after watching your vlogs that, I am getting to know you more(apart from reading about you on Wikipedia). Your humble self can bring smiles to millions who follow/watch your vlogs. I recently watched your vlog "when I gave up on life". I was just amazed. Thats one part of you, and the other part which I love the most is your passion for meeting friends and make new friends from all walks of life. I love the way you bring happiness to others lives by way of interacting with them, sharing moments of joy and sorrow. Being a celebrity, it takes a lot of courage to walk down the streets and meet people. HATS OFF TO YOU. I am a Bengali, living in Bangalore for many years. Being a traveller, I am sure you have travelled many places, specially Kolkata, which holds a special place in your heart. And you might have enjoyed Durga Puja many ways at many places, but still I would love to invite you and your team to our small but homely puja we organise here in Bangalore. I would love to host you during our Durga Puja during Oct 1-Oct 5

Brilliant as always Ashishji --- so friendly, so down to earth, so spontaneous!!! 👌👌👍👍💐💐 This episode was सोने पे सुहागा as I too live in Kolkata. Just four quick points ----1. Great to see the BNR Bangur bus --2:07--mins, No. 227 on which I've travelled many times over the years ! 2. --11:15-- mins - small correction---- Metro Railway in Kolkata started its first run on 24 Oct 1984 ( not 1988) covering a distance of 3.4 kms between Esplanade and Netaji Bhavan stations ( then known as Bhawanipore) 3. Shubhro is a wonderful food vlogger -- mature in approach, measured in his narration and solid in content. 4. At 15:21 mins -- the best dialogue of the episode -- "Lathait Maal Hai "😆😃😀👍👍 Love and best wishes from Kolkata. 🙏🙏
