It is a crying shame that their performances were not captured in today's high-quality, high-resolution audio and video. This was truly a tremendous, incredible, unique band. Their like is not to be found today.
This is one of the funkiest, most electrifying bands that most people no little about. The had a cult following in the U.S., but were huge in Europe. They were a blast to see live.

I don't think it was this same performance, but I remember these guys being on German TV in the early 80's; I was in my early teens then, and their music wasn't quite my cuppa (It so is NOW! 😄), but the "Ich bin was ich bin" stuff is the one thing I still clearly remember after all those years! 😀 Must be 40 now! 🤯
The opening track is so dope. I’ve been on a kid creole kick for the past year. I am not disappointed. One listening experience leads to another. Here I am looking up coati mundi uploads. No lie, me no pop I might be a perfect little song. I fell down the rabbit hole and I really appreciate the productions of the the live shows. I can only imagine the thought poured into the bands projects. I’m glad there are uploads. These videos are so much fun to watch.

@Daniel Bellfield - I'd rediscovered these guys 'n gals a couple of years ago via a YT recommendation of a live version of their 'Stool Pigeon', which then totally impressed me and also sent _me_ down that Kid Creole & the Coconuts rabbit hole 😀 I'm currently on the second trip 😄 Their music hadn't really been my style back then, when I was in my early-to-mid teens and mainly into Hard 'n Heavy by the likes of Iron Maiden, AC/DC, Whitesnake, etc. But man, do I like it *now* ! 😁👍
Nice to be rediscovered. Just uploaded a few vids including "Shorts" since your comment so go by my @CoatiMundiWorld channel and check them out when you have a moment. Thanks!

ha, I was wondering what Kid Creole's owh! scream in the opening number reminded me... ah, yes, Danny John-Jules playing the (extrovert) Cat character in Red Dwarf! another favourite!

Dear Mr. Mundi, could you please tell us something about Lee Robinson? Was he just a session musician or a part of some big bands? Where can we hear his trombone besides Kid Creole?
Before us he played with various big bands including the Thad Jones/Mel Lewis Orchestra. Don't know of any other recordings he is on but I'm sure there are. (RIP)
