Koloa Landing is a popular snorkel and scuba diving spot in Kauai. It has an easy shore entry --- a short walk from the parking lot to the water, it’s in a protected cove, and has abundant sea life.

Getting there:
There’s a dirt road along Hoonani Road in Koloa that leads to Koala Landing. It has a small sign on a utility pole. If you drive fast southbound along Hoonani Road, you could miss it.
The dive shop I used was recommended by the hotel I was staying, and I was happy with them. Booking reservation was easy over the phone (-also online); they then followed-up with emails with info about the dive.
The dive shop provided all the gears needed and were all in good working condition. The equipment were brought close to the beach; so the shore entry was just a short walk to the water over an old boat ramp.
The DM during my dive was awesome. She provided thorough briefing on the equipment and on what to expect during the dive. Let me know in the Comments section if you want to know of the dive shop I used.
During this dive, water was calm and visibility was great!
There were a lot more sea life I encountered during this dive than this video was able to capture
--- turtles, eels, rays.
Unfortunately, I experienced the dreaded “GoPro Freeze” on this dive --- that’s when the GoPro just locks up, and will not turn off or on using the buttons. It can only be reset by removing the battery which was not possible while I was underwater.
I’m now looking for a GoPro alternative for my future adventures.
