Here is our first video of Komatsu Forest's new 9-ton forwarder, 825TX. In the video, you get an overview of how the thinning forwarder is built and how the 825TX works in thinning. The 825TX is long awaited in Komatsu's forwarder range, still since their previous "junior" 830 was removed from the product range. The 825TX loads 9 tons and has a curb weight of 14.58 tons. It has 22.5" wheels that are available in either 600 or 700 mm width. As an option, there is a bogie lift on the front trailer. The crane is called 105F and is available with double telescopes in the lengths 9.5 m and 10 m and a single telescope version with 7, 7 meters range.TX stands for Thinning Xpert and aims to make the 825TX available with load space adapted for thinning. It is shorter and has the steering joint placed longer against the rear frame. Komatsu now with their new thinning series of forwarders has chosen to deliver a load space with angled struts, through which you can keep strip roads even narrower without damaging trees next to the road when the ground is sloping.
A key factor now that forest machine manufacturers have once again started producing small thinning forklifts is that forest owners demand that they want these in their future thinning. If this does not happen, unfortunately the forest contractors have no incentives to "change down" in size. It is therefore important that forest owners now create knowledge about which models exist and what distinguishes them.
