We've visited an contractor in Sweden who have tried an Komatsu 951 harvester. This machine is built for heavy clear-cutting and steep terrain. You can read more about it on our topic: skogsforum.se/viewtopic.php?f=...
Just wondering if any other 951s have had problems with the main lift ram and its bracket ? There are three 951s here and two have now had failures in this area, one the bracket that attaches the main ram to the rest of the crane failed and the other the main ram failed causing the ram rod to punch through the rear bracket, that machine nearly 4000 hrs the other I think around 3000. I only know about one first hand , the second I describe, the other is from people that saw it in for repair.
Hi Taylor, It's the Swing Damper on the crane tip that sounds like that. The damping function uses friction and that's the noice. Or do you mean the "duck sound" when some larger trees are felled? That is from an overflow valve in the hydraulics and is supposed to sound like that.
The Logger wrong, during summer the bark is very loose, specially on spruce, which makes it to be barked just from the pressure of the knives holding the tree,
