I always looked a year older than my actual age up until I turned twenty. Now I look younger. According to my mom, it runs in the family, as no-one believes she could have a son as old as I am.

I think it's a consequence of the way they wrote her. Gritty brash otaku girl who's not at all ashamed of it and cares more about indulging in her nerdy interests instead of fitting in? Probably doesn't have a mom.
I love Konata!! LOL 0:18 is so funny when she was like, "Ah, thats my mom." And Kagami and Tsukasa makes those faces. LOL I love it when anime characters make those cute faces!

Kagami's voice in the Japanese sounds so much deeper than in the English dub, I know that's because her archetype is Tsundere but it sounds weird coming out of such a cute character.

Also - you don't tend to die from being tiny - at least, not a few inches shorter than average... but childbirth could be more dangerous... which is probably why they show the flashback scenes in the anime the way they do - perhaps she never quite recovered post-partum. We'll never know. Either way, I have absolute faith that Kona-chan will be fine. She has a cat-smile ( =3) therefore she will be okay. Q.E.D.
@animeXmangaOTAKU Actually on two separate occasions, they say they are fraternal. The first time, Konata asks if they are Identical, and Kagami corrects her. The other time, they are talking about blood types and how it affects personality, and Konata says they probably have different blood types but Kagami says that since they are fraternal twins, they can't have different blood types.(Event though they can)
Soujirou was about 26 when Kanata died, she was 28. I did the math: 44 - 18 year old daughter = 26 Assuming Kanata were alive: 28 + 18 year old= 46. Sou actually went for an older woman.
I've gotten everything from people regarding my age. One girl thought I was 15, and an older gentleman thought I was 31, and most people guess something in between.
LOL, I don't look anything like my parents, I'm mixed too! I have dark olive skin, thick, wavy hair (not African hair, lol) and hazel/gold-ish eyes (actually, they can change color). I also have a different eye shape than both of them. I have almond shaped eyes, my mom has droopy eyes, and my dad has large eyes. (It may be because I'm part Philipino, too) My dad is black and Philipino, and my mom looks stereotypically Irish. (red hair, green eyes, etc.) XDD

Not nessasarily. I've had some teachers who were of similar hieght and I know a 20 year old who is effectively of the same stature overall as Kanata. My girlfriend is 20 and she claims that people mistake her for being about 13 or 14. She's also a Lucky Star fan so she said at one point that she's considering dying her hair blue. The only problem is she wears glasses. Meganekko Konata anyone?
@warhammerguy Well, Konata turns 18 during the series - Kagami, Tsukasa and Miyuki (who are in her year) must therefore be 17-18 - along with Ayano and Misao, who are in Kagami's class. Her younger cousin Yui is two years her junior, making the people in her class 15-16.
