This is actually a really solid starting point, honestly really easy to recommend buying Kontakt 7 over a lot of budget libraries that can run in Player. Because then you get all of this, but also all of the free libraries that can run in the full version of Kontakt.
Great composition. Instead of setting the dynamics in a certain spot, it helps to use the mod wheel to vary dynamics as you play and give each part more life.
Thanks for the video. It’s been really hard finding a video on orchestral staff in K14. Nice enough to make basic things. I would have loved to see a detailed explanation of each section, by the way.
Just found your channel today. I love your tone and how you explain stuff. Not too tech, not to patronizing. Looking forward to more content from you. Thanks and subscribed 👍
I make 90s underground hip hop but for some reason I’m also drawn to cinematic music too this instrumental sounds great NI stepped things up with this update
Wow, those sound really nice. Surprised to see that there is a legato function too. Probably it's scripted legato but still seems very playable. I think in orchestral music instead of verse and chorus you often just call it an A and B section.
Kontakt 7 is really good now for a beginner, since you get a usable orchestral library straight out of the box. The old factory library was showing its age. No true legato's and not many articulations, but good enough to start out with. Has the essentials a beginner will use. And individual sections, many beginner libraries only have ensemble patches.
The good news is I am totally sold on this! The bad news is I just tried to download the free Kontakt 7 player and it downloaded but I can't get it to work. Nor can I download East Asia which I just bought. While other (and much smaller) companies can provide products easy to download native Instruments can't seem to now be able to do that. What gives?
Hi Phil, what software are you using to compose? That was a beautiful composition. Is it Studio One or something else? I got Kontakt 7 but want to use it together with a good composition software.
Hi .,is there a way to do aftertouch with all those instruments? I don't see any settings for it at the top left (that little wrench ). I miss the aftrtouch😢 for the violins.
I just took home the Kontakt Factory Selection 2, and couldn’t find this Orchestra Library…?!…have i misunderstood something…? Or is this stock with the paid version of Kontakt 7?
Yea, I love the symphony series. I wouldn’t say a difference in quality, but more a difference in color/sound. The symphony series doesn’t have solo instruments either. They play/sound well together as well.
Do you have any videos on how to use certain features of Fabfilter? I purchased the software a week ago. 😀 I know the majority of the basics, but I would love to learn more. 😀
I think they're called 'phrases', but that might have a more technical meaning, I don't know. Anyway, just searching for videos demo'ing Orchestral Tools in Kontakt to see if it's worth getting. Thanks for the video.
Sounds good for a STOCK library, but if you want to do serious stuff you should definitely go for the whole cinestrings / cineharps / cinebrass collection. These libraries sound out of the box REALISTIC and I miss that feeling a little with the orchestral lib on Kontakt 7. I picked them up at their last offer on NI. Wouldn't recommend to pay the regular price (event though it is worth it), because they go on sale regularly. I heard many people say, that they haven't used different libraries in years.
@@producerhat CineSymphony is great but very expensive (Complete costs around the same amount as the full Berlin Series set, including optionals.) There's better options these days, like Cinematic Studio Series. Hell, even Berlin itself is one.
@@NebulonRanger I actually have the CSS - for some reason, I don’t use it much. I gravitate to my Orchestral Tools Inspire libraries the most. I need to crack CSS open again and remind myself how it sounds :)
@@producerhat Have you updated to 1.7 yet? Alex put that update out at the end of August, giving the library a roomier mix and improving the overall sound quality. He also split the close mics up.
Beautiful track!. I just got kontakt 7 but i have an issue with the B and C mid range violin sample, this is really dissapointing because is one of the instruments that i use the most. I hope they fix this soon
Just paid upgrade from player to full and have been through 3 days of hell. Should have been so simple. No customer support from these guys, either. Should have stuck with the free. Cheers
@@producerhat Thank you for the reply. Never did hear from NI but got great help through the forum. The solution was to delete 3 seemingly random files in 3 different locations - and then everything was magically fixed. I would have never figured this out and I still have no idea how this fixed it, but it did. The forum has been great. Thanks again
Ya it sou ds good but what about the content ... WHY SO LESS.... NO ENSAMBLES .... DEDICATED TO A SINGLE INSTRUMENT OR THE COMBINATION... Seriously this was disappointing 😞. When u had seen in the Teasers that ORCHESTRAL TOOLS are making the orchestral section.... I was toooo exited and had high hopes ....
I did quickly demo each instrument lol. Why would I dedicate a video to a single instrument? What production uses one instrument. Remember, this is a music production/songwriting channel :) thanks for the comment Md
@@producerhat Hey Buddy I was blaming Native Instruments.... 😄 NOT YOU ... Your Video is AMAZING MAN .. I GAVE A THUMS UP TOO. What do you they shouldn't have they worked on the orchestral library.... ???
For those who use 4K monitors, KONTAKT-7 is an ABSOLUTE DISASTER. Darker than before, less readable than before. Still not scalable with super ancient raster technology, completely outdated and not suited for modern video cards and monitors. Interface looks like brought from Windows3.1 (or alike). While all software on the planet evolves, Native Instruments seem to be frozen in time. I tried to use all kind of tricks to be able to read the screen and still it seems like I need to use the Magnifying Glass. KONTAKT and KOMPLETE KONTROL is a total disaster. Whoever owns 4K monitor needs to go back in time and DOWNGRADE to 1024 px in order to read the screen clearly. When it comes to certain plugins running inside Kontakt-7 it becomes even worse because the greatest plugins (.i.e. from Spitfire) are completely unreadable and so super tiny that one needs a microscope to read it. Also endless problems with built in SQLite database make this product super obsolete and super hard to manage. People an NATIVE INSTRUMENTS really need to wake up from their dream of having plugins monopoly because sooner or later somebody will do what they resist to do.
interesting, maybe decrease your resolution and/or increase your refresh rate? I'm running a 4K monitor, 120 hz, 3360x1890 resolution and it's crystal clear. even when I run at full resolution it's crystal clear :)
