Such a simple thing... but dammit it escaped me!!! Thank you for the help kind sir! For anyone reading.. If you have your libraries in an external drive like me, and you need to remove the drive for something like swapping in a USB stick.. and you open Kontakt thru whatever DAW, with the external drive OUT.. it will revert to your C drive / local drive (PC). In that case it's just a simple remapping as the video explains! Cheers all!
After I click "Browse for folder/file", and I click on the correct folder/file, the window literally closes and nothing happens. It behaves like I clicked on a cancel button.
Hi David, great! Another good subjects to talk about and explained better than others....However the explanation is not complete. Specifically, when selecting "save as" one has to select the "save mode" as "patch only" and make sure that the patch is saved in the relative instrument folder and not in the relative samples folder. The correct folder to save the patch should be the correct one by default, but just better to double check that.
You're right, but my aim for this video was just providing the quick solution. Anyone who wants to really understand how it works should watch the other linked video, where the "patch only" option is explained along with lots of other essential pieces of the puzzle.
Please I have a problem. I had this similar problem and I went to check the folder outside kontakt, were my libraries are. I found out that the size of the libray had reduced from a large amount to a small size. I don't know if it's microsoft defender that caused it. Please do you know what I could do to get the file size of the libray to it's original size? I really would like it to be the way it was before. I don't know if the contents were deleted.
Hey David I am so grateful that I found this video as it is the only one that has worked. My issue is I have recently bought sensual sax from embertone and when I open the files It opens as a demo. Ive been trying everything I can and nothing works. Please let me know what to do if you see this!
If it opens as a demo, it means your copy of the full version of Kontakt isn't licensed. You're using it in trial mode. (Which works unlimited if you're using a Kontakt Player library, but works in demo mode if not.) Embertone's Sensual Sax is not a Kontakt Player library. So your only option is to upgrade to a full version of Kontakt. (They do run occasional sales, so keep your eyes open for that if you want to save money.)
I navigated to the folder is but the files are greyed out. However when I search using finder, they are there. How do I get the files to be available when I use the search manually function in my daw?
Hi my problem is When i open kontakt manager to load library it show manager not found but in pc kontakt library manager is present and working but not working in daw please help me sir🙏🙏🙏🙏
I can't understand why kontakt has to resave the entire sample library. Its a stupid way.The samples already exist in a folder, so why can't it just update to point to that folder? Or just amend where its pointing. When browsing for the folder there should be a save location button. Much easier than having to resave the entire library which takes time if it's a big library.
To be clear, it's resaving all the *instruments* and making sure they point to the samples in the intended directory. It's not resaving samples (unless you specifically tell it to).
@daviddas So, instead of there being one file that tells all the instruments where the samples are, each instrument has to be told where the samples are. Mmm. Think if I had written the software, I would have had just one file that said where the samples folder is for all instruments. Thanks for explaining that. Makes sense why it has to save that way now. 👍
@@skarovision You say "I would have had just one file that said where the samples folder is..." -- the reason it isn't that way is because Kontakt is infinitely more complex. Sometimes users spread libraries across multiple drives. Sometimes multiple instruments reference the same samples. Sometimes samples change locations. There's just so many variables. All this is the reason that sometimes sample paths get broken, and why we sometimes have to use the Samples Missing dialog box to relocate them, which is why I made this video. If you never move your samples folder for a particular library, you'll never have the problem.
Hello sir... My kontakt is not scaning missing files..... I browsed the file location...but nothing happened.... Need help... May i get your Instagram id......for dm you..... 🙏
