I'm sorry, guys, but without JT Taylor this group only sounds like an average cover's band. "Not kool"... Yeah, and using the same JT lines does't work either...
Trust me; the whites in that audience had no idea that the original singer wasn't there. I am not mad at the band for continuing on if JT wanted to go his own way.
It's sad JT decided to go on his own way, I understand wanting to take things to a new level and all that, but i just wish he had been able to convince the rest of the gang to go along with it and stuck together. Apparently some of the others didn't feel that way, which winds up dividing the band and ultimately this sort of thing happening. Seen this happen with bands that hit the pocket and produce hits time and time again. Example1: Van Halen isn't an R&B band but this exact same thing happened with them, David Lee Roth split from them to persue his own solo carreer, He and the Halen brothers started having differences of where they wanted things to go and hence, the division began developing, and ultimately resulted in Dave splitting off on his own. Example2: My own brother was a drummer for Jamie Hoover Band in my town, they became pretty well known, even went as far as to cut a 45 and were awesome in performing and were gaining popularity very quickly, then at some point it was decided the band had to break up. It was never clear to me exactly why, it didn't make sense to me at the time (like in this case with KnTG and VH), you only hear the parts they want you to hear. But after looking at Jamie's Bio and carreer history it became apparent to me why, he wasn't getting what he wanted and eventually after going through another band or two he eventually got a better deal (without the current band members, invited to play in another band apparently). May very well be the case with JT and all the others this has happened to as well 😁 This has happened with many many other bands. KnTG had it goin on with JT as lead singer and THAT version of KnTG will be missed for sure. The new KnTG is ok but just not the same w/o JT. Same goes for VH, w/hagar was ok but VH lost that 'sound' they had w/dave and were never the same after that. Hoover eventually settled with the Spongetones and made a splash over the years and he himself has been involved with several big names, but he never seemed to gain the traction for a worldwide fame band like you see with others that become a household name in music. And to wrap this all up, it brings to mind an old addage that everyone knows: My grand daddy told me once, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" Or "the grass always looks greener on the other side of the fence" So in a nutshell it seems it's all about them and what they are seeking in their carreers and not the band.

Where the Hell is J.T. Taylor, just not the same, like the Rolling Stones without Mick, or the Miracles without Smokey Robinson, or the Pips without Gladys Knight !!!
Back in my day there might be a t.v. commercial that's supposed to be comedic, and somebody's grandma is 'getting down' to some current music, only now everybody's grandma/grandpa is REALLY getting down, not just for some t.v. commercial. They WERE those kids watching the t.v. commercial back in the day.
