Nas has the lyricism of Rakim, the awareness of Chuck D, the wordplay of Kool G Rap, the metaphors of Big Daddy Kane, the knowledge of KRSONE, the storytelling of Slick Rick, the longevity of LL Cool J and the versatility to do a great album with Damian Marley. And he sums it all up when he coined half man, half amazing!
Nas been rapping for 30 years now and still on top of the rap industry being name best rapper and album for 2023 L.L. never lasted that long consistently especially with him doing movie episodes like the rapper ice tea
Lmao this dude brings up Nas himself & then completely shifts the interview to Nas. You have a legend before you bruh! How about asking G-Rap about...G-Rap.
G. rap had a cool interview on hot 97 and also on Sway. An old Vlad interview, Kool G Rap said Pac was in the middle of the LA Riots lashing out bustings guns protesting. R.i.p. pac. G.Rap legend ill buy his old and upcoming music
What does that mean? Who cares if he asked that, why do people assume everybody who likes real hip hop or rap from NY gave a fuck about 2pac, I ain't never bought a PAC cd in my life yo!!!!!!! And I was born in '79 grew up on hip hop, the nigga PAC was wack to me, I only liked like on song he ever did. I liked all the NY greats, old and new, I fucked with snoops first album, that's it, does chronic but 2 PAC was boring as fuck to me, that wasn't my type of music
Rakim will have something to say about that. In the Golden Era NOBODY was touching Rakim. Follow the Leader, Let the Rhythm Hit Em, Lyrics of Fury, I Ain't No Joke, I Know You Got Soul, Mahogany, etc....G.Rap was the Kool Genius of Rap but Rakim was the God MC! LOL
NaS real Pac was a stupid studio gangster him & Suge that's why they joined MOB & didn't even last a entire year before they got shot!!!! They wasn't cut from that cloth IDC what anyone says I'm just keeping it 💯👌
Top 5 of all time 1. Rakim 2. Big Daddy Kane 3. Kool G Rap 4. KRS-One 5. LL Cool J These are the true archetypes rhyming and they established the foundation of Hip-Hop. Give credit where it’s due. Without them we wouldn’t have Nas, Jay or Big.
I would put LL above G. Rap, if we're talking mostly impact or influence... a lot of heads underrate '80s LL lyricism and I think his commercial success had a lot to do with it.
Vlad loves finding a way to talk about Nas, yet Nas won't ever be in front of Vlad's camera lens for an interview. Vlad a Nas hater, you can easily tell.
Vlad said Nas is the worst beat picker... Vlad u r very wrong...u got... Hate Me Now, Street Dreams, 2nd Childhood, Book of Rhymes...Ether...i can name 1000z.
I dont wanna bring race in diss shit... but he does some goofy white boi type shit sometime...and dont get it twisted i got white friendz...plus i know its some white boiz who would definitely disagree with Vlad as far as Nastradamus's production selection. Peep Game. Alchemist is one of my Favorite producers in the Game...He white...and produced for Nas. Im not Hatin on Vlad Because his content is very entertaining. "BUT HEY VLAD????!!! U A FUCKIN GOOFY BRUH"...CONTROL UR WEED HIGH.
Desmond Compton A lot of people say that about Nas though. To be fair I've heard a few tracks in everyone of his albums after It Was Written and there were some subpar beats on them. But that's not to discredit Nas as an overall artists and rapper. There's many great rappers who have mediocre beats on some of there albums.
Desmond Compton Mobb deep featuring Look G Rap. The realiest . That hook alone is one of the hardest to hit in hip hop. The lyrics is bonkers. Before you look it up. Just imagine Kool G Rap voice spitting on that hook.
" I'm with Akinyele in the street, tryin to get us a deal G Rap tried to sign us to Cold Chill But Fly Ty didn't have the contract we wanted Clark Kent just signed Das, he didn't want us Russell said I sounded like G, the nigga fronted" ---Nas ( Surviving the Times)
Even when I was young I always felt nas was a hybrid of kool g rap, rakim, big daddy Kane, and slick rick. If you know these rappers well it'll make sense once you pick apart the various styles, delivery, messages, and presentation Nas borrowed from all of them. And that's perfectly fine!! That's how evolution works just like your son taking tendencies from you, his mother, his uncles, and the guys he looks up to in the neighborhood 😉
True Nas was the real student of hip hop that's why he is studied by this generation. Nas studied to be like GOAT. Unlike biting styles of other rapper
@@SaimAli-dz8ur Facts . Slick Rick especially. End of Children Story "Knock Knock Knock Knock em out the park Rick, Knock em out Rick " Na- Na- Nasty Nas, Na Na Nas Nasty Nas " End of NY State of Mind
Bruh, youre obsessed with Nas.. i never seen no shit like this in my life. And the man dont even know you exist. Is it a crush? did he steal your woman? Did he not autograph your poster? Sheesh
Vlad has to let it go with this Nas obsession cause Nas never made music for weird people like Vlad Nas music was for black people n the Streetz who was trying to make it out even Kool G rap never made music for White people Vlad gotta just let it go Nas is top 5 no matter how much Vlad hates it
Big Pun sounds like G. Rap more than any rapper I've ever heard. A.Z., too. Nas was his own man on Illmatic, but there was definite G. Rap influences on his demo tape.
Exactly. The G Rap influence was definitely in the demo era. By Illmatic he had come into his own. IMO (Nas has confirmed this in interviews in the past) one of Nas’s biggest influences most people don’t talk about it. Especially in terms of how Nas flows is Super Lover Cee from Astoria. Right next to Queensbridge. You can hear the similarities between them in early Nas.
...around-the-way, back 'n tha day, some referred to #Nas as exactly that: "A Rakim in pampers." Heard the same said about Buckshot Shorty back then too.
I love how he really wanted the best for Nas genuinely, people nowadays are envious they want to take advantage of others. Def jam seemed to BlackBall Nas, that's Crazy Cause Def Jam was Started Rick Ruben and guided by Queens dudes Russell Simmons Run DMC. Damn Glad Kool G Rap was looking out.
how ironic, the record label passed on Nas cause they thought he sounded like cool g! these days they only sign artists that sound like the last (bit harsh harsh that really) calling them artists when it's people like lil pump and lil yaughty I had in mind😂
People might have gripes with Vlad because of his coverage of Nas, but tbh, as a Nas fan, this is dope third party information that brings more detail to Nas' story. I don't mind cause Vlad can't possibly do damage to Esco anyway
Nas made a song about Rakim. Nas has publicly stated numerous times that Rakim was the main influence on him. Vlad is certain "now that he thinks about it" that G Rap was a greater influence. Vlad also thinks Black Thought is nothing special, and that album sales determine how good a rapper is.
Come on Vlad, why are we asking arguably the greatest Mc of all time a million questions on another great Mc. It’s cool to ask a few, but G Rap is the greatest and he’s been a top Mc since he came out till the present. Y’all need to hear his shit Half a Clip, The Royalties joint and The Don. I can’t believe this dude is still nice as ever got damn.
70% of rappers have g rap DNA.. especially queens artist.. wanna hear the proof check out fast life with g rap and nas.. but all mob stories, rapid fire flows of hip hop derive from g rap..
The first NaS & the first Kool G Rap song i ever heard was the "Fast Life" music video on The Box back in like 95 when i was only like 8 years old , not even knowing who NaS was till like 5 years later cuz i grew up on Midwest & West Co cuz thats where im.from💯 Stillmatic was the first NY album i ever bought & i bought it the day it dropped just cuz i liked the cover not realizing i heard all of his previous albums before that!!!! Im proud that i was probably the only 8 year old to remember that music video & the only 13 year old that bought that classic masterpiece album in 2001 just on a wim
"Russel said I sounded like G, that nigga fronted", Nas explains the whole beginning of his career on the song Surviving the Times. Vlad should probably listen to that.
"Nas sounds too much like G Rap, and G Rap don't sell no records, " said Russell Simmons. XXL put that quote up for an anniversary special on Illmatic.
