Thanks and I'd say that back at you also...Sunday Morning in Northern Canada on my farm beauty day outside this morning....and THIS tune soothing the airwaves....
That is what classics are meant for: becoming ageless and joyable at every ages. GTA Vice City made a great success by introducing the 90's kids to the greatest generation and to such classics like this one, thankfully.
This track is so refreshing.. after a crazy day as a black man born and raised in Baltimore City this hits the soul.. I wish all well in their journey.. much love 🖤💪🏾
I love how music brings people together and a truly great song like this can be appreciated by different ages, generations, races, ethnicities, religions, etc. I'm a white female in my late 30s from San Francisco and this is one of my favorite songs to listen to on a summer night.
The 1970's music was superior it doesn't matter if you wrote and played in the basement, garage or the backyard. You have to respect all genre of the 1970's . The sounds was so clear and enjoyable. Thanks to a great decade of music................
You can wine to it. You can dine to it. You can sleep to it. You can make love to it. You can drive to it. You can slow dance to it. You can work to it. You can smile to it. You can weep to it. You can chill to it. What you can't do with this song is fight to it, or rob to it, or steal to it, or be mean to it, or harm anything to it. What a perfect thing....
I'm white, grew up 8 years in London then North of Cambridge. 1974. It, I must have being through a bad time at the time, my childhood was not happy. But this tune stirs me and makes me happy. I thank kool and the gang for playing it.
Well you're fortunate to be female, otherwise I'd have dismissed you as an inbred English with snaggle tooth. A Limey for the love of god! But we're gentlemen at least in the KoolGang.
What a time it was. What a memory it is. What a story we made. What happened to that relaxing time of life? Through all the hard times we had music that pulled us through. The Electrifying Mojo and The Wizard, 107.5fm late nights and weekend nights. It's all seems like yesterday. So when you feel like your nearing the end of your rope, don't slide off, tie a knot, keep hanging, keep remembering ain't nobody bad like you!
Blew my mind (said WTF outloud) just a sec ago when I saw this said 1970 something I've been hearing a dope modern lofi song on mixes that obvi samples this but I had no idea the source song was so lofi from day one. This could literally be slid into plenty of lofi mixes and only the extended solos would stand out
BOOM 💥 It is able to capture the simplicity and complexity of all the human emotions almost simultaneously and effortlessly. A pure stand alone masterpiece.
I've been listening to this song for a long time. And during all this time I realized that it will not happen again. If I were allowed to create worlds, I would be able to use all my fantasies to this song. And if I were sent into space with one single song, I would fly with it into the double dimension.
I was 21 when this song came out, I'm 69 now and I have played or listen to at least once a year except for the year I was in prison, but other than that, I can always listen and remember what was happening.my son is 40 and it's one of his favorite songs.TIMELESS
You know a song is exceptional when the "Extended mix" is uploaded after the standard version and still has more hits on youtube; people prefer a longer version! What an iconic and timeless soundtrack this is.
… the “standard- version”- as you refer to it- is the “true” version… the- “#1”- version… the- dare I say- “🎵classic”- version… can YOU say- “ORIGI🎵AL!”- version!?… yup- “THAT” version… “NO OTHER- version”… (YOU know- the “DRUM🥁”- intro- version)… got it?…
What makes this song timeless is the fact that while listening to it you are effectively transported to the best summer of your life. Whatever the year - it doesn't matter. The song is the constant, we are the variable.
I'm sitting here in the middle of the pandemic chilling 45 years later. Just as Nice as the 45 years ago.........Lord help us all enjoy the small moments in LIFE
I don't care who you are. Old, young, black, white, or anything in between. Music is a universal language that we can all understand. Embrace the groove! God loves y'all.
Yes sir totally agree 100. I grew up in the 70,80&90 in New York remember driving around on Sunday's in my pops 58 Cadillac groovin listening to the Do Op Shop. Now living in Florida these white people down here look at me weird. Fuck m. Thats the music i grew up listening too. I buried my pops in 97. So i listen to music to reflect on the good times i had with my father. Love you pops 1 love
THIS IS MY STUFF AND U ARE SO RIGHT ...I SAW KOOL BACK IN THE DAY YESSSSSSSSS,,MY OLDIES NOTHING LIKE THEM..STILL LISTEN TO THEM AND HAVE MY OLD GET TOGETHERS WITH US FOLKS THAT ENJOY OUR MUSIC.BLESSINGS
We need this type of music today. There is to much hatered and jealousy in the world. Young folks committin genocide on each other. May Yahweh bless and keep you safe
Arachnotron first half of the 80s weren’t bad either. Got to be part of the ending 60s when music was starting to transform. Then all of the 70s in my late teens and 20s with songs like this, then the 80s where music still had depth and soul 😁
Another St. Louisian's listening. This brings me back to my childhood, my play brother would jam this all the time when I was a kid. This song and The Art of Noise Moment In Love....
I'm a teacher. I cant stand a quiet classroom. I have to have some sort of noise moving through the room. I have to ask my kids sometimes to just talk. When they dont, I play music. I played this and let me tell you... they grooved while they worked to this. This was heavily requested. They'd rather work and have this going than talk!!!
This song just stops you in your tracks, sits you down, and instantly starts to reminisce, and your head to moving to the beat! This is such a classic !!!!I play it so much til my husband doesn't want to play it when he dj'😊s
In my opinion this tune is timeless by nature. And kool & the gang was tapping into everyone's subconscious with this one. Beautiful soothing yet eccentric. Quality pieces of history.
This drowns out all the trouble, All the crap life throws at you. Truly a transcending masterpiece. Brings back the feeling of more carefree days. . Who says you can't time travel.
This song could have come out a decade from now and would have still sounded fresh. A timeless display of human emotional inteligence that surpasses being considered just music to become art.
This Song reminds me of my first love 💛 he passed away four years ago of cancer,he would take me on the highway and float in his luxury car, with me his Queen beside him 🌺he loved music, I have his collection of archives.... I miss you Steve Bridges....RIH my first and last Brilliant Love 💛
Just know that it’s 2:56am here in Harrisburg Pennsylvania the 717. I just puffed some medical with a THC level of 29. Drinking some Silver Bullets dealing with my mental, but God got me and God always did even if I didn’t know it. I tried everything, but Christ is my Savior and I’m listening to Summer Madness. I turn 40 in August on the 5th and I’ll be still bumping this cut. With that being said it’s Thursday June, 22nd is the day and I’ll be checking in until the day I go! That’s how we stay connected and that’s how we keep these classics going on until the end of time. From the 717!
I was twelve when this song came out i loved it then an im almost 60 an still love it now. This is the time of bands with real musicians my friends. Those days are gone but we still have the music!!❤
Can't quite believe this track hails from 1975! Surely one of the best pieces of music of all time. The vibe, the elevation, the spiritual - simply sublime.
@@m42037 That's where I first heard it--and I swear I searched for YEARS trying to find out who recorded this masterpiece! So glad I FINALLY tracked down the artist. This song transports you to a freer, more beautiful and sensual realm!
OMG. Summer Madness! What a timeless piece. Almost 50 years, I’m growing old. Music is such a gift from the Almighty. I was about 22 then, what a years😂 !!
The lead ins and progression of the song are incredible. The bass track and keyboard overlay... one of a kind. The guitar solo is just haunting and very emotional. Not sure I've heard any other songs that evoke so many emotions. This song truly shows the musical genius of the original members of Kool and the Gang. While mainly known after their lead singer joined, and they became more "pop" and less funk/jazz, nobody can forget their origins. I still like their soul and pop songs from 1979 and later. It shows that great musical minds can transcend "genres" and make great music from many different genres. While many have sampled Summer Madness and Will Smith made millions from scalping it... there is only one true original, and nobody will ever compete with that!
If there's a track that I would love to come back to GTA, it's Summer Madness for GTA VI. Will unleash major Vice City vibes and nostalgia to older fans!
Yes, go back in time and listen real close you can hear the real coolness in a lot of music and that was the vibe among the people in the community on a large scale. Now,as we see how the music industry made sure to distort and remove that cool vibe from our music and our communities. We see the end results of all this mayhem and violence among our people.
This instrumental will forever be the greatest!!! The way they captured the essence of summertime!!! If you close your eyes while listening to it… It takes you back to a simpler time! A time where joy filled your lungs like a drug! I appreciate this joint more and more as I get older!
i imagined myself cruisin on the 5 south in my grandpa's cherry red 64 impala on my way back to Baja California. And as I find myself feeling the sun's kiss on my golden skin, I smile cause my momma waitin for me in Heaven. Ain't nobody stoppin me.
One of the best songs EVER made. Traveling the highways on a warm summer night with the windows down and the moon roof open, Doesnt get any better. Thank you 1975
I have this on the original 12" vinyl (B side) it is a timeless masterpiece. It is a briliant piece of music that I for one will never tire listening to.
WHEN LISTENING TO THIS SONG YOU ARE JAMMING!!! WHEN YOU HEAR THIS CUT; SUMMER MADNESS, YOU WILL BE RELAXING NO MATTER WHAT!!! ONE OF THE GREATEST SONGS EVER. A SHOUT OUT TO KOOL IN THE GANG.
