The 4th leg of our journey starts at the Fairview Lodge property in Kooralgin, where Steve Thompson explains Landcare practices and their benefits for Cooyar Creek and the surrounding environment. A few kilometres down the Yarraman Kooralgin Road we rest under the abandoned school for a chat with Shirley McDougall and Colin Kiem, two long-term residents with roots stretching back to the early European settlement of the district. Having walked through the Pidna National park we finish at the Ted Pukallus Weir - a stunning and hidden body of water popular used exclusively by the local fishing club. A fantastic 18 kilometre walk on a beautiful, cool and occasionally blustery Queensland mid-winter day. Follow our journey here: / 1101449276991614
