I’ve fitted miles of flexi conduit down the sides of ice cream vans and trailer kiosks! Both 20mm and 25mm. Mainly single DC control wires for relays and contactors. Never thought of using Saddles though so thanks for that. I just use P clips. Loving your channel btw.

I always use a thin nylon fish tape for flexicon, with a little wiggly end. It's sort of the size of a 2.5mm single cable but really rigid when you're pushing forwards. Straighten the conduit as best you can first
@jamespetre

Personally, I find it best to secure one end of the Koplex to something whilst holding it taught at the other end before feeding the cable through. Folding the end of the cable over to make it smoother so it glides over the inner bumps also helps.

Wago does do a 4-way and a 8 way push-in connector (2273). They're very, very common over here. A lot smaller than the 221's, which I personally only use when changing from solid cores to flex.

u can either get 4 way push fit wagos 773 or 2273 screwfix got em. Top workmanship. A few suggestions if u dont mind ;) y not use solid conduit on the long runs and the flex in the corners or bends just use couplings. That flexi on the floor is just waiting to be squashed ;) I know someone already commented about the 3 pipes into the switch, looks terrible and I'm not so sure about the metal-clad stuff in this kind of environment (condensation?) maybe. Like I said only suggestions
@piney6587
@piney6587 5 лет назад
Between yourself and my trusted electrician think I need to buy shares in flexi conduit..... 🤣 Personally I would use fibreglass fish rods/tape (4mm) and conduit cable with any type of conduit as its easier to work with and by putting a jb/conduit box in the right place you could use less conduit but provide more circuits at same time if required. I'll probably cause an argument by suggesting it but I would be tempted to use plastic switches and sockets even the ip55 ish ones inside as from my experience the metal clad in those environments (unless its heated 24/7) tend to attract condesation and rust prematurely. But that aside if I was the client I would be very happy with the finished installation. My comments are suggestions not criticism your work is top notch and you always put good thought into your work and I look forward to the next video

Get some nylon cord / string. Tie small bit of cloth on the end. Get a vacuum cleaner, stick it at one end of the flexi conduit. Switch the vacuum on at one end, feed the bit of cloth with the string around it into the other. Watch the string get sucked through the flexi conduit. When the string gets to the other end, use it to drag through any type of cable you want. If you're using smaller conduit like 12mm for something like the sensor for underfloor heating, you can just tie a knot in the cord and it will be dragged through without any probs. :-)

@crashk6
@crashk6 5 лет назад
For short runs I use rod or flat metal fish tape with a plastic pilot tip, and pull a bundle of single cores through, rather than push. It's the simplest way I've found. For really long runs I'll vacuum some fiber optic pull ribbon through the flex tube and attach my single cores. I yank the pull ribbon while an assistant or an in animate object with some rigging holds the flexi. Again pulling in, rather than pushing. That said, I've had to shove wire into existing flexi, so I use solid single cores for that instead of stranded. In the end, go with whatever gives you less of a fight.

Easy way to pull cables through flexi conduit. Get a reel of string, make a ball with the string (just smaller than the conduit.) Put the ball of string in one end of the conduit, then get your hoover and put it on the other end of the conduit. Suck the string through, then tie your cable to the string and pull it through. You can use masking tape to seal the hoover to the conduit. Used to do this all the time with cat5 cables and long lengths of flexi.

No reason at all to earth a back box if there is a fixed lug.
@AdamCookeTV
@AdamCookeTV 5 лет назад
What about a case when the socket is removed from its box (screws removed) while live and a loose live cable ends up dangling around and makes contact with the box? Would be nice for that box to still be earthed at that point. It’s far more likely for a conductor to make contact with the back box when the socket is being moved around. Yes, yes, you shouldn’t remove socket covers when live and the conductors should be tight but we know it happens.
