Your projects are stunning, love them all! I love your knitting joy and the positive vibe you have ❤ Totally agree about PetitKnit, I don't like when other podcasters start to appologize for having only PetitKnit on their needles, and blahblah there are other designers out there, and things like that. How I see things? PetitKnit is PetitKnit. Period! She has the most amazing, simple, comfortable, mostly friendly begginer and scandinavian style pattern. And I see a lot of new "designers" releasing pattern becaise of PetitKnit and because all they have learned from PetitKnit patters. So for me saying bad things about her work is just masked hypocrisy. Just saying 😂 Oh, and all the talk about size inclusive and how they not recommend some designers because of their not inclusive size patterns? Well, just another hypocrisy! I am a big size, 124 cm bust and let me tell you that not every knitting pattern look good on my body with all that size inclusive. It would be better for us to understand and accept that some patterns don't need to be size inclusive. Ok 😂 many people will hate my comment but who cares? At the end of the day we all wish to be PetitKnit, or at list some of the new "designers" 😂 Regards, Maria. Ps I love long content and you just made me to cast on again the october sweater, I've done it before but I had to unravell everything because was not the correct size for me.
I'm also so sick and tired of this apologetical nonsense when yet another knitter on yo makes something from PetiteKnit. She is literally a mother to current social media knitting community, countless younger designers and a huge inspiration! She deserves all the respect and admiration.
Omg I also had the similar experience when I first got into knitting in 2021. I fell in love with Petite Knit's Maude tee. That was my first purchase from her. The pattern was too advanced for me at the time (probably still is), and same thing like you I forgot about my goal. The pattern got tucked away in a notebook binder. Once in a while I'll take a look at it but haven't felt the desire to start knitting it. I've been following your blog on the recent Sweden trip.. then came across this podcast today. I heard your story of why you got into Petite knit. I've been keeping these thoughts to myself but now to hear someone said them outloud, I couldn't help but smiled. How cool is this!😅 thanks for sharing your story!
Never feel like you have to justify yourself for knitting patterns from a popular or specific designer. Always, always knit what you love and what you are comfortable with ❤️ love how you came for the haters out there
Loved your yarn haul! The balloon sweater in that rainbow sprinkles yarn is going to be STUNNING. I recently added Cumbria to my yarn stash as well, in the color dodd wood -- I think it's going to become a sweater no. 13. It really is a gorgeous yarn and so nice to the touch. The gal at the store also told me that it softens up EVEN MORE when blocking. I can't wait! 🤩
Thank you! I’m sooo ready to cast on the Balloon Sweater just so I can see the yarn worked up. Ooooo that’s making me even more excited for the Cumbria yarn!
Thank you I enjoy watching you and your sisters. I also knitted the chunky Dahlia, just by watching you'll it give me ideas to try different garments that I may have not come across while pattern perusing. Here in the windy city is our annual yarn crawl that has 18 shops participating. Hope I don't to get into yarny trouble😊
Ohh, that striped dress is beautiful! You have a great eye for color! Love your knits - I am currently a crocheter trying to learn how to knit, because like you, I am fascinated with all the beautiful knot sweaters that I want to make Someday! Xoxo
Another fantastic podcast love it love it great job love all that your doing an all the projects you talk about an whips it's so inspirational to me ❤😊😊amazing
Hello; this is Yvonne in Detroit Michigan. While watching you I was working on the Lyon Sweater 😘 I have 1 sleeve 2 go, and 5 “ of the body 2 finish… 🙋🏾♀️🙌🏾💃💃 Gr8 podcast 2day!
What I did during this video: - worked on a top with sharp lace needles and poked into a cut in my finger, which HURT so much - made a gauge swatch, cast on the thing, made the same ripping mistake twice (always beginning of row, ripped back once), decided to frog the thing and do sth else - just made another gauge swatch, will cast on a sweater now (with Filcolana Peruvian Highland Wool)
Awesome video! I had to watch every minute! Your pattern and yarn choices are amazing! Your motivation is contagious so thank you! I look forward to your next video, enjoy! 💕
Really enjoyed this episode. That Mamba sweater is going to be gorgeous. As someone who always has a cable knit on the needles, I'm looking forward to the pattern. Lol watching this made me realize I need to stop procrastinating and film another podcast episode for my channel
Kalilah, I don't even know which project of yours I like best in this episode... The Stripe Hype Dress? Gorgeous! The Mamba Sweater? Will be amazing! The October Sweater? So cool, and the color
I am so delulu that my first knit is the petiteknit Elisabeth blouse 🫣 and I’m only one sleeve away from finishing.. it’s taken so long because I’ve had to watch so many videos but it’s been so fun and I feel so upskilled!
I love your stripe hype dress! I didn’t notice the sleeves until you pointed it out. I’m about to cast that on over the next few days, but making one of Kutovakika’s Lola Tops atm. I also recently finished The Arctic Light Sweater and wow, what a pattern! I love that sweater soooo much. Really enjoyed watching and I can relate to having a huge list of projects waiting to be made. I’ll get through them all eventually 😅
Thank you!!! Oh wow I’m so glad you liked the pattern because it makes me even more excited to knit it up. Rightttt eventually we’ll get through our lists hahaha
You know, I’ve never felt the urge to make the Sunday sweater but yours in cream and the blond hair is giving me like Swiss alps sipping hot cocoa in a ski lodge and I want that for me! 😂 I’m excited to see how your test knits go. And I love the Sweden haul!
You knit so much. How do you find the time? Love the way you pair mohair and create such beautiful fabric. Have fun. I’m currently knitting Matilda a stranded colour work yoked jumper. Also have a cardigan on needles.
I still routinely frog...whether I made a mistake or it's just not what I want, I frog. I don't feel bad about it. I feel liberated! I'm working on a summer tee, a pair of sox, as usual, and I need to put zippers in 3 baby sweaters...really need to get those done! And I'm trying to make prothesis socks for a friend out of sock yarn. It's a discovery process. Plus, not counted in my regular knitting are the stuff I'm knitting for a local knitting mill. Other than that, I'm just chillin!
Thank you for the podcast! Knitting community can be so judgeful sometimes... who cares which designers other people support. For each their own! I had one question: why do you hold boucle double on so small needles? Won't it produce not just tight, but also a super warm sweater? Like, hot warm sweater :D
Agreed! Well, I thought it seemed thinner than it actually is, so I just went with it lolol and a super warm sweater is totally fine with me! I’ll use it some day whenever I travel to a cold place. 😆
Be careful with the loops and threads, because, it really catches on itself. I've found that if I don't pull too much out at one time, it's easier to work with. It's a beautiful yarn though😊
