I use the kamakura hooks in wide gape mainly and do fish lakes where you can get plenty of runs and don't mind paying that bit extra for them 👍 it does make me laugh how some people bitch about the price of hooks yet don't think twice about spending hundreds of rods reels bivvy 😂🙈 .

When will people learn a sharp hook if it catches the lip will go in and stay in just as good as a mega sharp hook !!! I could see a point for say catfish but carp have soft mouths. There is such a thing as too good which means there is no more benefit then good.

Well said, it’s classic carp overthinking. Mugga straight out the pack for me 100% confidence in them, as they are I will give it a little sharpen if I want to reuse it after a fish or a twig maybe but that’s all

My concern about the hand sharpened Gardner Muggas is does the sharpened process make the hook points weak as they are strengthened by heat tempering process during the manufacturing process

The thing with sharpening in my eyes is your not affecting the integrity of the hook other than the end of the point. If its set right in the fishs mouth it won't be played on the point anyway. If that makes sense. That's my thoughts

If a hooks point has turned over in a packet surely just by landing on the lake bed it could turn over, marketing madness. Defo catch more anglers than carp

Used both,for me the korda are superior wound my rods in' in the morning korda still perfect the mugga ones were rusty and blunt!!!!!

That is a good point. Thanks for the comment. I forgot to mention the coating. I have found the jag pens to be perfect for stopping any rust.

Hopefully they make these in krank Choddy soon so after 1 catch you can change the hook on multi rig.

Id be amazed if they dont bring out there main range in these before long. Im guessing they kept it to just a few to test the process and public reaction. So fingers crossed.

Yes the point is needle sharp and does turn over especially if fishing a gravelly bottom

Yep it will always happen to super sharp hooks. Its a trade off between fine point or durability. Guess depends on what your after :)

The krank hooks in this video, i personally use my coated braid D rig that i use almost everywhere. But there best suited to, blowback rigs, kd rigs, d rigs that kind of thing. Hope you enjoyed the video.

Such is the nature of the beast with hook sharpening. The sharper you go the weaker the point. Its a fine balance to tread

Ive not used the Kamakura myself but people are saying they are one fish hooks. IE one fish turns the point over and needs re-sharpening.

Yeh basically any sharpened hook will be a 1 fish hook due to how thin the wire is to get it to a fine point. But then again iv never reused a hook after a fish anyway as im to fussy haha

@@Sasssm8 yeh thats the problem with sharpening to such a fine point. What you gain in hooking you loose in longevity.its a trade off for what your after.
