Carp angler Luke Stevenson has an undeniable ability to catch large numbers of big carp from difficult venues. The consistent success of his big fish angling makes him, possibly, one of the best big carp anglers in the country.
His recent successes on Carthagena, a tricky Lea Valley gravel pit ran by renowned Big Carp angler Gerry Hammond has galvanised his reputation further. Over the 2 winter’s, Luke landed many of the lakes most prized fish, including “Tango” at a lake record weight of over 53 pounds.
This success has been replicated on other notable venues too, including, The North Met and the Shallow’s Lake on the St Ives complex.
Check out this in-depth podcast that gives you an insight into a man that generally shies away from the limelight. Some “mega” stories and even more “mega” fish…. Check it out.

There are 2 types of carp angler, they can be determined by the ones who like this episode and the ones who dislike this episode. I'm not having a dig, we have different carp angling cultures and Luke is a prime example of a die hard big fish angler.

Just a honest down to earth guy who loves his fishing. Not ‘primed’ ready for the camera. Just telling his stories. Fair play mate. I rather be able to catch carp than talk about them!

Sorry boys, this one was a tough listen. All over the place and no real direction in the conversation. I had to turn it off after about forty minutes or so as it was quite annoying to listen to. Better luck next time!

Poor choice of guest. Felt really sorry for the interviewer as trying to get blood out of a stone. May of caught some big fish but dreadful in front of camera
@davidtelford4160

If you'd payed attention he does mention he doesn't feel comfortable in front of the camera. He's a very accomplished angler and just because he's not full of himself like half the media whores in the industry

david telford I’m not saying he’s not an accomplished angler - but a good interview is 2 way with 2 good personalities. As a podcast it was bloody awful!

Need to get a bit creative with these now...three people in a row talking about their fishing...gets a bit tedious. Need to have specific agenda. Like bait, get gary bayes and mark holmes on etc
@vincetanczos

Awful. Like trying to get blood out of a stone, and so many umm's and err's. Painful.
