Props to the woman who walked out of her nose job appointment because she said "if I change one thing I hate about myself I'm going to want to change another." That is a really strong testament and I wish this perspective was more common.
@@rkhandle Usually all the interviewing youtubers hang out at the same spots cause they wanna interview foreigners or young people so if you go there you're kinda bound to bump into them at one point or another.
@@Definitely_Melnyx He does interview known internet personalities so he's not being dishonest or anything. Asian Boss and other YT channels do similar things. It's really hard to do authentic and totally natural street interviews free of scheduled ones. Takes a loooooong time.
The girl at 7:00 is spot on for korean preference for Korean girls. Ppl always talk about korean beauty standards about what they think is pretty but in reality the most popular girls that guys were all over were not the drop dead gorgeous ones but the cute types that looked friendly.
I like the phrasing and approach to the questioning, as well as the insightful candid responses. It seems almost taboo to think of yourself as anything close to a 10, so the attitude shown here is really refreshing to see
if youre a 9 and call yourself a 7, it looks like you're fishing for compliments, but If you're a 7 calling yourself a 9, you're arrogant. Such a lose/lose situation.
The interviewer asked for their perspective. And that's how supposed to be. Nobody should care about others ratings. If you think you're a 9, then you're a 9. And what's the matter on getting compliments?
@@merrittpalmer4349 maybe having minor surgery is not considered having surgery? Just like if you had speeding tickets you would not consider yourself having done crimes
@@Bashir000Yes, if we talk about the real average, 5 is the average, but people tend to rate themselves higher 😂 It actually more about showing self-love. Same like most people don’t think they are genius but the thought of being (slightly) above average comfort them. So I think 7 is the most comfortable number for most people. 6 is like you barely make it in a test 😂(Asian mind) I think in Asia, when they said they’re ≧8, it’s usually because they really are pretty and people around them also said so. More often than not they are objectively attractive. I rarely seen anyone who said they’re 10 and seriously believe in it 😂 Like the beautiful lady who rated herself 8.5 said, nobody is perfect. Actually I think saying something around 7 is healthy. So you maintained a certain amount of confidence and still being grounded (not delusional)/ humble. It’s self-evaluation after all. I do think Westerners tend to rate themselves higher and Asian lower. Usually if they are Asian growing up overseas they also tend to have more positive body image and less strict standards.
Bro love your interviews, the video quality, the consistency & the professionalism! Just a tiny piece of advice though: If you could add a little intro (just a couple of sentences) and a conclusion/ending to your videos, that would be great. I felt like your videos start and end abruptly. My humble opinion. Everything else is great! Good luck 😉
I think Korean girls are the prettiest and this isn't just based off K-Pop idols lol. I've been to a lot of Korean culture/K-Pop events and a lot of the women that work as staff and employees are usually pretty attractive. 2nd would be Chinese girls & 3rd belongs to them Filipinas ❤
In my country, being voluptuous or overweight is the ideal and I’m very skinny. I sometimes think I’d be seen as very pretty in Korea because I’m very skinny, have a sharp jaw, big almond eyes, and a small face, but where I’m from I’m considered ugly. It really makes me think all of this means nothing.
If you're not As;an, you'll never be the ideal in Korea. Sure you can get guys easily, but even average foreign girls get guys easily, so that doesn't mean anything.
Beauty it's in the eye of the beholder so I believe inner beauty should be the standard. Love yourself above all because the "standards" anywhere are ridiculous to achieve. They're doctored up versions.
170cm/5'7 usually seems to be the go-to ideal height for women in Korea and Japan. Here in Australia, people have often told me that I'm too tall at 5'7, I've always wanted to be shorter! It's interesting how different the beauty standards are in other cultures.
i'd rate the 2-3 girl a solid 9. She might not meet the korean beauty standard but her face is so much more interesting and unique, she could become a model in Europe.
21 день назад
Anybody can be a model in Europe, like what are we even doing here? If you dilute the standard that much , it doesn't mean anything
I really don't like ratings out of 10 I have never been comfortable with it, to reduce looks to just a number. That said, as a rough guide it can be useful so taking that into consideration, almost all the girls rated themselves very accurately more or less to what my own opinion of their looks is, so that's quite impressive
@@kristinef.petersen1728 Due to population differences, according to ISAPS's 2016 statistics on cosmetic surgery, Brazil is ranked 1st, the United States 2nd, and South Korea 3rd (followed by Mexico 4th, India 5th, and Germany 6th), but in terms of population per 100,000 people, South Korea is by far the number one in the world. Korean cosmetic surgeons stopped submitting data to ISAPS after 2017, probably because they thought their own country's data was inconvenient. Therefore, as of 2024, it is unclear how much the number of surgeries in South Korea has increased. In fact, South Korea is also ranked 5th in the world for breast augmentation surgery, with 50,000 people undergoing breast augmentation surgery each year, which is a very high number compared to the rest of the world, and it is the only Asian country to be ranked in the top 10.
@asean1015 brazil and Venezuela surgeries doesnt have a stigma...it's more of a money issue Here in the Philippines all the women with money are doing something
All of these ladies are very beautiful, but each person has what they like best, and so much of attraction comes from what we like about a person’s personality. Only my wife is a perfect 10 for me. 😍😍😍 ( * - * )
For the most part, I think all the women were pretty honest, sometimes humble, with their ratings, with the exception of the ones who rated themselves 9s and the ones who rated themselves 5s and 3s; 9s were way too high, and the low ratings were too low. The ones who rated themselves 7s were gorgeous, IMHO.
All of these girls are a 9 for me. Everyone's pretty in their own way. I liked the one with blonde here. She gave herself a pretty low score despite her being the most beautiful out of them all.
@@sara.cbc92facts none are close here. There’s a difference between between being nice and being delusional. 9’s are model material and stunning appearance wise.
@@sara.cbc92 The influencer ain't even all that, yes, sh'es above average, but I wouldn't be confident that she stands out at entertainment agency auditions.
@@sara.cbc92 you guys see celeb and think of east asain standrads lol, don't comapre normal people to celeb they are like 1% of population in general walking around the street from the view point of someone commoner they were all decent looking from 5-7
I have noticed many Koreans don't consider botox, fillers, lifting and facial contouring as surgery. Here in my country, these procedures are considered something big and unnatural 😂
Omg my first thought seeing the girl at 1:09 was that she looked really short but then she said she was 163cm ? She's not even short 🫠 i am 159 lmfao i can't imagine how short i look then... that also means everyone in this vid was very tall though 😭😭
great video! some feedback if you’re interested, the white text for the subtitles really hurt my eyes when it was on top of white in the background. maybe consider adding a black box behind the to help with visibility? just a suggestion 🫶🏾
Well, I do believe everyone deserves a 10 since we are all unique in features, just the way beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder. If you say you're an 8 or a 7, maybe you should tell us what you need to be a 10? But wait, after you achieve that, some people may see you as a 7 or even 5 based on comparison. So everyone is a 10, don't devalue yourself. 😊
Lady with black blouse who gave herself 7 is spot on, and she is best looking too(even more so than ladies who scored themselves higher). Though i think she is 7,5 🤔
The young lady at 2:05 is not a 2 but does need to understand how unique she is in Korea and relate more closely with Filipino beauty. She has common facial bone structure with Filipinas. Keep the hair black, no double eyelids, and accent more with some gold jewelry with some soft red lips. I'm not into fashion but I've seen enough hot Filipinas to know. While this lady doesn't have the golden skin that normally comes with Filipinas, it won't matter as the look overall would fit. Easily hit that 6/10 or 7/10. And she likely is quite intelligent and has confidence in other areas. She'd be an instant match for a Westerner like American.
The girl who rated herself down cuz of her height... I'd say face and height are two different things. You could look so pretty but be short. Also, 163cm is not bad at all... I personally think 170+ is too tall for a girl. Just my own preference though
Love the curvy girl who gave herself a 9/10. One can tell that her confidence is through the roof. Good for her! It shows and THAT is very attractive in either sex.
I really don’t believe in rating attractiveness or beauty. If someone I encounter in life sees me as a number before knowing me as a person, then I’m not interested in being around that person, plain and simple. I’ve never rated anyone’s appearance like that and it’s quite sad to me that there are people who go through life valuing people based on subjective beauty standards. It’s even sadder when people fall victim to valuing themselves based on those “ratings.”
The reality is it does matter, maybe it's not a number, but there's still a concept of beauty rating to society. And if you don't wanna play by that rule , that's up to you, but the world ain't gon' revolve around you.
@@B3nn1b people who are considered ugly based on society’s beauty standards will still exist regardless of whether society accepts them or not. you’ll either be ugly and miserable, spend your life chasing “beauty” by spending thousands on cosmetic procedures and still being unsatisfied, or you can ignore the judgments and be ugly and happy lol. i’d rather choose to be ugly and happy personally 💁♀️
I dont wanna be mean but i think some of them are lying about not having done any procedures. Some facial features just don’t fit and it’s so easy to spot, especially with rhinoplasty. I’m not saying this to be rude, I just think it’s unfortunate how they feel the need to lie, especially considering how common plastic surgery is in SK
@@loisbalogh1605 but they still much prefer "natural beauty" even actors and kpop idols are known to hide or downplay the amount of procedures they've done
I am so relieved that Koreans are accepting more body types and they prioritize being healthy first thing. They also accept tan skin, and I'm living with that!!
The thing about that is, you only need to be average-looking for guys to put you on a pedestal , which inflates their ego's to the point they think they're 8's and 9's. In fact, as a girl, you only need to be slightly above average for most guys to treat you like a model. It's only the entertainment , beauty industries where the differences above a 6 kick in. ln terms of day to day interactions with men, anything 5 and above is essentially treated as an 8/9, in terms of men approaching you, asking for your number, getting male attention in general.
Oh wow, what's stopping me from giving myself a 10 is that i got extra weight. Meanwhile she looks like extra thin per western standards. And I guess it's true what a lot of people have been saying about how much people get judged for their weight in Korea.
most of them overrated themselves, BUT as one of them said: Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so, if they think they are that high, then they are in their opinion... IMO they aren't (most of them) and some did themselves dirty 2/3 out of 10? no way, but well ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I wish everyone would give themselves a 10! But I'm guilty of not doing that myself. I would rate me at 9, because of my very, very thin hair. I'm fully aware that others would rate me differently, but isn't it important to love yourself? (In a humble way)🥰
@@ashleylove6840 they definitely exist but SHE is not one of them. The way her nostrils stretch abnormally is proof alone. And i checked her IG she clearly has nose surgery
Gotta say halfway through the video I noticed all the women there have immaculate hair. Here in the US the women care much less about their hair, loose strands and frizziness like they've been riding in a convertible.
the girl with green clothes saying she fat not skinny must be a joke, u can see how slim she is, no fat or chubby stomach, very slim from stomach to waist
If You ask the men. They would most likely rate themselves 5 to 6. Average. Nothing wrong with being average. For the guys, be confident and strong. Masculine and stoic and being 5 or 6 is just fine.
Usually I'm "against" cosmetic surgery of any kind, but there's one that I can't understand: double eyelid... I mean, why???? Why???? Mono eyelid is awesome!!
Subjective, there should be 2 beauty ratings, one for natural and one for plastic/surgery, but if that were the case 90% of the younger korean women would be at the plastic/surgery scale and not the natural.
