@@asadmomin6178 Koreans Archers are trained like military. The way they practice the way they approach archery is very different from us Americans. We practice a lot but it's just not on the same scale. There's a discipline factor.
The "paint" on his face is not camo, it is to reduce glare from the sun, especially when squinting. Been in use for many decades and is quite common in the States. Know before you speak.
Personally, I think the U.S. is also very good at shooting, but considering the history of archery, it is also true that there are considerable difficulties to surpass Korea's 9,000 years(Stone age ~ Modern) of archery history from ancient times to now.
In the stone age, Koreans were no better archers than other ethnicities. But from the Korean Three Kingdoms is when Korean archers began to excel above others because mounted archers were their main military force. The tradition continued for thousands of years down to Goryo and Josun Kingdoms. That is 2000 years of strong military and common folk sporting archery tradition. This continued even during the era of muskets.
I think that our guys look like crap. I hate our over ornate shirts. I dislike shorts, especially when worn with shoes and no socks. And can't they come up with something better than those mismatched, ugly baseball caps?
I agree that the American uniform does not do their performance justice. Shorts are a bad idea. The shirt is better off with red and blue stripe on white background like an American flag. That would look very fashionable and sleek. Baseball cap represents America so I am fine with that (although bucket hats look so much cooler on archers). I am Korean by the way. Ancient Koreans used to wear all white in the past, so I think the white shirts works well with the Korean archery culture. I think either Polo or Tommy Hilfiger should design the uniforms for American teams. Korean uniforms were professionally designed by a famous Korean sports wear company, especially the bucket hats (although not shown in this match).
Speaking on behalf of literally every archer who's ever shot competitively, please shut the fuck up and learn more about this sport before you leave any more brain dead comments like this.
