Daily vlog, Korea Seoul travel vlog.
Part 2 of Korea Travel Vlog. 3rd day in Seoul. As we didn't have a fixed itinerary, I would plan where we were going everyday. Thought of bringing my colleague to the Hangang, or Han river side so we headed to Yeouido Hangang park. I was also hoping to catch some last few cherry blossoms, if any. It was nice spring weather. Saw a bike rental shop just right at the entrance. So we spontaneously decided to cycle along the river rather than walk. Not even wearing a skirt would deter me. It was perfect weather was cycling and we did spotted the last few cherry blossoms. Went to Yeonnam-dong after that because I wanted to visit a prop shop there. We took the bus but got off earlier at Ihwa Women University as it was an area which I like to shop at in the past. However, many shops have been closed so sadly it wasn't as it used to be. We had a stop at Artbox, then a quick and simple lunch of bibimbap at one of the stores there and then headed to Yeonnam-dong as planned. Yeonnam-dong was full of cute and quirky shops and cafes. We managed to find the shop I was looking for which was full of cats products. The IG is @byeolnyang_e if anyone is interested. They have online shop too but the shipping is too expensive so I took the change to get the items I wanted while I was in Seoul. Made a coffee break at one of the cafes in Yeonnam-dong called Bitte Butter. Really a nice cafe with scones and other pastries. Their coffee is really good too. Make a stop at MUJI on our way back. Of course I wanted to look at Korea MUJI. Dinner was just food we got from the convenient store beside our hotel because we were really tired after all the exploring.
4th day - my colleague woke up feeling very sick this day. So I went out to explore by myself in the morning. I had wanted to visit Seoul Forest but because the weather was rainy, I went to COEX to see the famous Starfield Library instead. Grabbed a coffee at Starbucks there and got their Choux Cream Latte which I wanted to try. Bought some food for my colleague on the way back and then went to meet my 2nd Korean teacher for lunch as planned. It's a pity my colleague couldn't join us. I told my teacher I would like to have wild vegetables bibimbap (산채비빔밥). It's a bibimbap which I don't think I can find in Singapore easily. So I wanted to have it while in Korea. My teacher bought me to a traditional restaurant on Namsam. We got bibimbap, kimchi pancake and soy sauce based tteokbokki which was different from the usual spicy tteokbokki but so delicious!
My teacher also brought some lovely gifts for me! After lunch, my teacher brought me to her residential area for a drink. She stayed at Hannam-dong, an affluential area I believe.
Bought some carp bread 붕어빵 on my way back to the hotel in the late afternoon. Went to the nearby Lotte Departmental Store to shop and then had dinner at the basement. Then it was chilling at Starbucks because my colleague just love Starbucks. At night, my first Korean teacher asked to meet me and he brought me a gigantic box of strawberries!! Felt so happy and thankful for that because I love Korean strawberries.
Last day in Seoul - in the morning we went out to find breakfast nearby. Because the Onion cafe was nearby, we walked over to have a look and gave up after seeing the queue. We also walked past the famous London Bagel place but also skipped because we didn't have time for queues. We ended up eating traditional Korean food Gukbap which was soup rice. It's cooked rice in soup, which was very warm and comforting.
While my colleague went back to rest after eating, I walked around Isa-dong, looking for some last min gifts. Left my colleague resting at a cafe after checking out while I went to buy some food for our dinner on the flight home. Took the limousine bus to Incheon airport, and caught our flight back. Dinner was some random kimbap I bought from an ajumma at the subway station. It was good though and cheap. Better than paying for the airplane food anyway.
Landed back in Singapore after midnight and that's the end of our very short 5 days trip to Seoul. Short as it was, I thoroughly enjoyed myself every day I was there so it's really worth it.
