To watch kdrama's without subs 3. To understand the inside jokes of the Korean language 4. Sing along to k-pop music and understand without sub 5. +Kira Jackson romanization isn't good when learning other languages. You cant pronounce things correctly when romanized. try and explain all of the french,Spanish or German letters only using English letters. it doesn't work. it is better to just hear a letter and say it as you hear it. what I do is get a piece of paper and write down the character 10-20 times will saying the character repeatedly.

Alexander Drechsel I like learning languages but I find it sad that I’ll never be able to learn them all, so there will always be someone who’s world I can’t share, don’t you think?
@alexanderdrechsel6858
@alexanderdrechsel6858 6 лет назад
my point was not to understand everybody. Take Korean and English as an example. English is a pretty "brusque" language. If someone refers to you with "you" .. you don't know if it's polite or not. In Korean you do. Someone who only speaks English, will never understand the importance of this fact in society. In fact when I watched my first KDrama, I was confronted with a scene, where somebody called someone else and said "thank you for your help" (English sub) and the other guy was wondering, why he had to be this rude. It was something I couldn't understand, until I started learning the language and dealt with their culture. You might not understand/share everybodies world, but if you learn more languages, you will be more open minded to people who "think differently"

Can anybody show me the romaji for the place holder so I can pronounce it right
@sicko_ani
@sicko_ani 9 лет назад
Jale Anderson if you put the placeholder at the end of the syllable, you have to pronounce it as "ng", like in "안녕" (annyeong), but the "g" sound isn't clear. it's like you want to say it, but you end up not saying it. if it's at the beginning of the syllable, then it has no sound. the korean name of the placeholder is "ieung" (이응).

Learn Korean with KoreanClass101.com I thought that if the one stroke was on the right, it would sound like the letter u in jug. And if the one stroke was on the left it sounded like the letter a in father.

The ㅓ sound is a bit weird for me but other than that it's cool :). It always sounds like somebody is exasperated to me when they use the ㅓ or ㅕbecause that's the only time I usually here that sound, when someone goes ahhhhh :)

I'm not sure, I feel like pronunciations are easier in Chinese but for some reason my class in high school didn't start with the alphabet. It was six years ago, so it might just be my memory. Learning Chinese was easy form what I can recall, but Korean is another thing. Maybe it's because I'm teaching myself.
