Just found this and this is a very edgy Seventeen. Looking forward for the comeback. VERY interesting. They seem to have a happy ending. With all the philosophical stuff...
You were right in that Seventeen's vibes are usually happy. But more than just happy vibes, I would say "warmth" and "positivity" describes Seventeen the best. They actually have a lot of emotional songs, but even their saddest songs are often comforting and uplifting as well (Hug, Circles, Smile Flower, Kidult etc...). This trailer fits right in : they acknowledge that this world is f*cked up but they're encouraging you to fight for what you want and break free, even for just a little while.
Yes Seventeen's usually known for bright and uplifting concepts but everytime they've tried something different' they've ki||ed it! We are all so excited for this masterpiece to drop as it's very relatable to everyone, us youth specially. The rush and competition these days gets too much but we gotta fight and find a way to a better lifestyle. Looking forward to your reaction videos for this album 🤍
You can basically relate this to The Truman Show, where there was a lot of the scene came out relatable with the movie, and also, where they started (the practice room with CCTV) just like the life of Truman.

In case it wasn’t so clear cause obviously not everyone would know every reference, SVT’s teaser trailer seemed to draw a lot of parallels (both visuals and dialogue) to Truman’s show in concept, sort of touching on the realization of always having ur life watched by an audience and wanting to free himself once he realized that’s whats happening. The concept pictures also kinda link to this in a way of being stuck in a mundane loop so that probably what its supposed to show that we can break free from it and deserve to be happy instead of being stuck in that unhappiness. S.Coups did say the new album can be said to have the mindset they have back when they were trainees, so it fits the mundane repetitiveness, wanting to fight back and everything. They were also livestreamed since pre-debut so this kind of theme probably are held close to their heart. Yes, most of their songs are somewhat happy but I don't think that really explains it? It's uplifting and always try to portray a message of resonance. Cause some upbeat songs be having sad reality type of lyrics too lmao. I guess the upbeat type of beat is just their sound, yk but they're more uplifting than they have happy songs.
TOTALLY different for Seventeen! I know that when they released their last album along with Sector 17 featuring each member in a solo mini-MV, they each said, "We're not seventeen...anymore." They explained during February's Caratland that it meant they're not children, but young men. They've matured, and thus begins the group re-inventing themselves in a fresh, new way. If you look at the FML video credits you'll see they've hired an extremely well-known production company to handle this comeback, not putting all the pressure on Woozi this time. So they've grown up, matured, and now they're going to address adult subjects. I'm sure they're all taking a more serious approach to their work since S.Coups will most likely have to go into military this year (he's reached the max age--28--for celebrities) with Woozi not too far behind as he turns 28 this year. So Seventeen has some MAJOR changes coming for them this year; and that might be why they're addressing war, tragedy (especially with North Korea scaring everyone these days), and uncertainty. I think Seventeen's timing for this is perfect!
This comeback seems to definitely be very unique and monumental. The members have definitely been hyping it up saying things like it's their best album and scoups was reminded of woozi being a genius. Woozi also posted a long message on Weverse saying that they know it's risky to have a double title track but asking carats to trust him. It's also really cool seing the references to the Truman show, both in this teaser but also in a lot of the promotion materials previously released this year. Some people have also pointed out the similarities relating to seventeen being watched though livestreams during their trainee days
