Honestly, I think the main issue isn't how her beauty is all "plastic," but that their entire family promotes such heavily edited (on instagram and even edited videos) body image that are unrealistic, and they deny it when people point it out. They just promote unhealthy, toxic beauty standards and fakeness really.

Cardi has got more than her breast done lol :)) She had silicone injected in her lower half and it was not even the surgical type ( it happened in a basement and the reason she stopped is that someone else died from the same thing and the doctor ran away). She sings about sex and she also sells it, the problem is that there is no distinction between sexy and vulgar anymore. She is strong, she is talented she is raising a child she did a lot of empowering things I just don't think she needs to be naked and doing what she did at the Grammys to make a difference. There is no balance. And it's sad in a way to think that this generation needs this to feel empowered. Education is very important, self-respect and body positivity, and like many other countries where they don't have this but they still are able to talk about sex openly and about other stuff. don't think it's needed, they just promote it like this, but it's just very extreme.

When men do this, and sing much MORE vulgar things, like Eminem, no one comments. It's okay and actually their music is derogatory towards women. There is balance, she can be empowered and be naked. You're falling into societies frames which have been invented by men. I don't need to feel naked to be empowered and neither will Cardi B, she's built and empire from being her authentic self and being unapologetic for it. But I would never shame or dispute a woman's actions or reasoning. I'd support them because that's what women should do.

It's controversial because it's borderline vulgar, we have art and nakedness (paintings, sculpture, and so on) and no one complains, but she makes the beauty of a naked body something extremely sexual, not only sexy but vulgar. It should be music with a strong message but I don't think it's appropriate for all ages. How should I put this generally because we live with other people in this world we kind of try to live so we can be happy but also not disrespect others, for each thing, there is something that is appropriate and something that it's not, just generally in society and doing sexual things in public it's not. No matter how I look at it there should be a limit, it's not that I cause her or try to push her down, each person has their own perspective, it works for her but I view it from a different perspective. Also, I don't think people were that angry about the lyrics because they did hear this type of song before, people reacted more to her performance.

Patriarchy tells us that women should be sexy, but not too overtly sexy because then you're a shut, but if it's not enough then no one is interested in you and it won't sell. For women to make it in a society that has been rigged against them for years was to be sexual, even looking back at the 00s in the West it was sexual all the time. We need to stop treating sex as a taboo act, most people do it, it's not wrong or vulgar it's called being human. And especially women expressing their love for it, society doesn't like it, and therefore this is controversial even though she's just singing about liking good sex, something that a lot of women don't experience because men don't understand female anatomy and focus on their own pleasure. I'm a believer of uplifting women regardless, unless they cause harm. This isn't causing harm, she's rapping about sex, like men have done for ages, and they've been more vulgar doing it. It has a strong message for young women like me and most young girls I know agree it's a needed piece of music.

Most Asians think that once you gain more than 30lb you're over weight due to their standards. Their body shapes are way thinner than the norm. But I feel they're wrong in their judgements.

From what I've seen, they usually view our bodies differently from theirs. I've seen many Koreans admiring beyonce's body, saying that she's fit and attractive and she is larger than the average korean. I obviously can't speak for them all, but from what I've seen, they understand that their bodies are different. I would actually say that they expect all of us to have curvy bodies, which is also a warped view

Also there's a large population of mixed races Most drop black and just say Latino, Hispanic, Creole (Trinidadian of mixed race - Afro-European). Cardi B's talks about always having to explain or defend her ethnicity. She is Black Latino, parents are fair skin, but grandparents are dark skin. Her features are more African than European, and just because you are fair skin, doesn't mean you're not black (her words).
