Korean Assassins vs Morning of Owl Battle of the Year Korea 2012 Semi Finals O.U.R. System Score Breakdown: 5 = Perfect 4 = Good 3 = Average 2 = Poor 1 = None
@Joseph Kobatake they started off getting destroyed by body carnival crew. It's just that the event wasn't popular enough for you to see it. All that lead to MOO developing numerous original routines that they would later use to come back at body carnival in 2013 at r16. At the event there were members that formally didn't belong in the crews (for example, that lmfao haircut guy was from Ichigekix and bboy Zebra was from Gorilla crew). Also MOO lost pretty badly against jinjo on r16 2012 Korea eliminations. Of course, the biase behind lil John's judging played its part, but even despite that you could see the overall gap being in their level, not only in their approach to breaking. At the end of the day, they are to be acknowledged as world class bboys after everything they've been through, and I'm a big fan myself
morning of owl is calling a bite. there are many ways to call it. one is by clapping your elbows together, and the other is by making a bite sign with your hands. a bite means that a bboy copied someone else's move or style. you can call it whenever you want to but it's up to the judges to decide if it's true or not.
im new to bboy and i have a dumb question ahha when bboy battles like this, they get into each others faces... is that a sign of disrespect? or what? most of the battles are like this but im prety sure its not really disrespecting... just a part of the battle? haha idk what im saying
Not sure if youre still bboying, but those signs are part of the culture and dance. It means that you are inviting your opponent to do his stuff and prove his skills.
Nowadays you need a shitload of routines to win.. I mean look at the world champions from several events: Jinjo, Vagabonds, etc. all use 80% routines.. "In 1995, I would hear 'one breaker, one move,' in 2012 you hear 'routine, routine.' Boy! How battles & events changed." - Lil John.
they were going a bit over board, your not supposed to touch your opponent. but its not really disrespect its a part of breaking. kinda like a less structured version of up rockin
I finally know the first song!!!! I dont know which version it is though. But its "Papa Was A Rolling Stone" by the Temptations. I think its a different version from the originals. I just don't know which one...
Ironically MOO had never showed such behaviour before but they were always screwed up by the judges... Now this is the first time I see them reacting so agressively and childish in few moments and there you go - they won the whole thing ;-]
