Kim's friends visited us from Korea and we became their foodie tour guide!
We brought them to Kampung Baru to introduce them to all kinds of commonly eaten Malay foods to see their reactions!

When he said he didn't get why people eat by hand.. apart from cultural things, researchers had made a claim that handling food with fingers releases digestive juices and enzymes. Also, millions of nerve endings in your fingers relay the message that you're about to eat, including the temperature of the food, level of spiciness and texture of food, thereby prepping the stomach for digestion 😊

Actually using your hands to eat makes the food digest faster in the stomach. To prove the point, whenever you touch food with your bare hands,the food will get spoilt faster if you didn't eat it immediately..

The reason is more than culture....using hands ( properly washed),we can feel the texture ,warmth, bones of the food etc better than using metal cutlery. Also there are enzymes in the fingers when mixed with food gives better taste than metal spoons. You can google it

love to see you guys love nasi lemak, and i personally love the sambal kerang, super delicious. yes, the key to delicious nasi lemak is the sambal. who makes better sambal, gets the crowd! btw, nowadays most malays using cutlery at the restaurant since sometimes its too far to go to the sink to wash, and if got lots of people, need to queue some more to wash hand.

Try some Korean food in KL and recommend? Sri Hartamas/ Mont Kiara used to have good Korean Food, and along Jalan Ampang (I believe) there is a place known as Little Korean Village with Korean groceries, even Korean barber and Korean restaurants

the advantage of using your own hand to eat is you know you will not put any dirty things inside you compared to others because you clean it very well before even you eat. Moreover, you can feel the texture of your food and I think it tastes nicer compare to using cutlery.

Actually eat by hand way better than use spoon or chopsticks. Before eat you clean spoon and chopsticks, same by hand, you need to clean your hand before and after eat. Plus your hand has chemical that make the foods more delicious.

hahaha i missed this vlogs i guess, correct ! eating outside for malays could be personal preference, sometimes we use spoon bcoz we dont want to make our finger smelly or our nails dirty due to some activities that we might do later, otherwise we use finger, majority malay will eat using hand at home unless we eat soup or noodles. commonly we eat nasi lemak with spoon due to coconut heavy smell, and nasi campor with hand because easy to tear chicken and fish better

Now i wonder.. how many durian kampung you all can eat if it is a all you can eat buffet at some durian orchard.. For me.. my Last personal record is satu bakul lebih.. because durian kampung not all taste the same.. (it been a long time) But i my mind is worries if the popularity of musang king will suddenly making all the durian kampung variant disappear or vanished. Because people started to killed them and planted musang king only.

Our hand especially at the tip of our fingers have an enzyme that will help to digest our food easier.. 😅 hence eating with bare hand is permissible in Islam.. (wash it thoroughly first)
