​@@macbrodernbror3271 Yes which was the most hypocritical law ever made in the country, because it forbids the killing of dogs for eating them but it doesn't forbid the eating of dog meat. Explain to me the logic behind this. This is what is called a fake law because dog meat is simply imported from farms outside the country operated by Korean people who use the traditional killing technique and then export the meat to Korea which is perfectly legal. So although you can't kill dogs in Korea you can find dog meat killed outside korea the traditional way for dog stew. This is my job to know this, i am an international wild life vet and ethologist who works for the world animal protection organization which is a branch of the UN and for the unesco biospheres. I worked in Korea for 7 months after 2018 and i have been working with the Korean organization CARE (Coexistence of Animal Rights on Earth) who are absolutely phenomenal and they reported me that they could take me to at least 50 restaurant in Seoul alone serving dog meat which was not imported. They operate the only shelters where animals are not euthanized but i have seen videos provided by them of other shelters where animal are euthanized and then sold to the meat industry, and because the animals are not directly killed to be eaten this goes around the law. Unfortunately now many of the buyers from those shelters are ready to pay good money to some of the shelters volunteers or even workers to get the dogs alive before being euthanized because the gassing (which is the norm in Korea or the drowning due to the high price of gas now) alters the taste of the meat. And also because people who enjoy dog stew in korea want the animal to be killed the traditional way, which means beating the dog to almost death until all the bones are broken and to cause internal bleeding. after hanging the animal and then slowly boiling it, sometime before it is even dead, based on the belief that the more the animal suffer the more it releases chemicals in the system which make the meat tastier and also make the people eating it stronger and able to endure pain and fight diseases. Which is why dog stew is often served to fighters, to elderly people and to young boy so that they allegedly grow big and strong. Dog meat is still very easily available in Korea regardless of this law. Again this is my job to know all that.

@@macbrodernbror3271 And if you know korea you know this is not just dog, there is a whole culture of serving animals alive to be eaten, from octopus to fish to beating frog heart to turtle getting their throat cut off in front of the customer with the blood collecting in a glass which the customer drinks warm . Don't get me started i have thousand of GB of data on Korean animal cruelty. Don't get me wrong, it is just as bad in Japan and it all pales compared to China, Eastern Europe, Africa and South America and even Scandinavia. And i am scandinavian married to a Japanese.

Особенности национальной кухни определяются особенностями местности и климата. Южная Корея не может похвастаться шикарными гигантскими чернозёмами. Ели то что могли себе позволить, так что для них это нормальная еда. Just personally, I feel in the case for dogs, they are another animal and if you want your intellectual consistency to continue then you need to be ok with dogs being eaten if you are ok with pigs and cows being eaten, but I do understand the culture difference. As for chasing animals a needless and slow death in the name of “freshness” on “convenience” then yeah I agree it’s just cruel

The bottom line is is that in UK at least, dogs and cats are treated like family members, cows and pigs (despite how intelligent pigs are, and genetically similar to us etc are not) they're livestock. There doesn't seem to be an equivalent animal in your country that has this status so it's something you can't comprehend. I appreciate your opinion but don't question my intellectual 'consistency'.

@@n1msu I understand the culture difference, but you can’t identify another culture for cruel when you still kill and eat other animals because they are less cute and ties are not a close to humans. You don’t need to eat dog meat but you need to be ok that it’s a reality of the world, if you can’t do that then you should be vegetarian
