@idontlikealt10yrolds aww thanks! ofc I didn't mean it that way..I actually want to learn the language and the culture :) it's SUCH A BEAUTIFUL COUNTRY! 화이팅!
My dream country is South Korea Too! I used to be obsessed with BTS but not as much now and I just listen to their songs! They are a really great inspiration and I would love to get a house there and settle (I'm indian too!) And your culture got really popular with K pop!
its not usually really made for one off or alone food. they value the s*** outta fam and the culture, and its beautiful. that said there are some dishes that can be made "bachelor style" and you keep em to eat throughout a week.
Easy tteokbokki Sauce -2 tbsp sugar -1 tbsp gochujang -1/2 tbsp soy sauce -1-2 tsp garlic powder Other -15 rice cakes -1 fish cake sheet -Mandu (optional) -Hard boiled egg (optional) -Green onion (optional) -Shredded mozzarella cheese (optional) 1. Add 1 cup of water and sauce to the pan 2. If you want mandu, put it in now so it has time to cook 3. Add 1 stalk of chopped green onion (it's easier to cut it with scissors) 3. When it starts to boil, add in about 15 rice cakes (that's how many I like) and fishcake 4. Boil for about 3-4 minutes (when you can easily poke the rice cake with a chopstick) 5. Plate the tteokbokki, and add shredded cheese and hard boiled egg if desired
I just made japchae (first one) today and it was so sad haha 😭 the ones in videos/photos/recipebooks always looks so good! I can't wait to try authentic korean food one day!! looks absolutely delicious!!
You can pretty much take any korean food and just not add in meat and sub in vegan/vegetarian ingredients. That’s what my korean mom does and we’ve been a vegan family for my whole life (almost 20 years) . A large majority of korean foods are veggie based because before, meat was like a privilege and only upper classes ate them. All this abundance of chicken, pork, beef and such started getting added into the foods after Korea started getting more wealthier.
hey so i don’t have an asian market close to where i live and i was wondering which grocery store/ supermarket i could go to, to buy the spicy noodles with the little chicken character on it :)
which dish do you miss "the hand of grandma" in the most? Mine is weird and ethnically specific, bc I don't dig a ton of Colombian food.... Love a lot of other countries food.
I badly wanna try tteokbokki after quarantine so im curious what it taste like, cause I told myself I wanna try kimchi already thought that it will taste spicy but i was ready for that, what I was not ready for was that strong fermented taste,I thought it would just be plain spicy,so...what does it taste like?
It’s an acquired taste tbh, the taste is very complex so it’s hard to describe, it’s like sweet but also very very spicy, if you make it, highly recommend cheese it makes it 10000x better imo
