Some hospitals are private and some are public. The public ones are funded by the government and you can usually expect them to be a bit dirtier since the price is slightly less than private hospitals. That's because more people go there than private hospitals
Two types of hospitals in the Philippines: 1. Public hospitals - almost free. 2. Private hospitals - the expensive ones. I'm not sure if foreign migrants can apply for Philhealth. It could be beneficial in times of hospitalization. It helps to lessen hospital bills. If not, you can apply for other health insurance. There's a lot of affordable health insurance company here. Just choose the one that suits you.
hi it's common that private hospitals fee are higher than public hospitals fee. you can get free hospitalization in public hospitals or in a discounted fee. however, it's gonna be less convenient most of the time in public hospitals because there will always be a lot of people / patients asking/needing medical assistance all the time. hence, a very long line to get help.
public hospitals are almost free but you have to process so many papers and documents to get it free and private hospitals are literally expensive but anything you need they give it to you faster that's my own experience haha
Every country has its own culture that may bring shock to a newbie like you..expectation is differ from reality..but once you get use to it,all comes in simple common way..in short term it's ADVENTURES..!😃😂🤣🥰
S Guards are there to preempt crime. Their visibility helps in fending off any criminal activity. When stabbing incidents happened in Korea a week ago i found new appreciations to our s guards in malls and other business establishments.
We have also selfservice we called eat all you can About hospital's why the other's hospital's that's private hospital's that's expensive and government hospital's
Every food for pinoy can be ulam coz rice is life, even just condiments or just soup coz no rice no power thats why fried chicken also pair with rice just to make it main course or heavy meal
Hi lynn, maybe thats why some hospitals are expensive like the private ones is that most of the doctors study or take their specialization abroad and then they go back here to practice and mostly they invest on expensive equipments for whatever they specialize with.so for them studying medicine abroad is an investment to which they become good doctors.maybe thats what you pay for, good doctors.now there is the government or public hospitals which is cheaper even sometimes for charity purpose its free or discounted.
I certainly agree with u that the Philippines does have a lot of street chicken food in man corners of the street. And its good to see that ure adapting even more to the Philippines with actual real interest to it:)) Happy to hear that and continue with it Lynn u deserve all the love and support like ur love for the Philippines in ur Yt channel:)
11:25 sometimes lynn 😂 you have to make squat position on Comfort rooms on public places 😅 and like some beach resorts in batangas area 😂 some of them if you wanted to sleep somewhere using a tent on sands, it just a common CR like you said 😅 Or else you guys have a toilet paper/Tissue to put around the toilet for some reason if you are not comfortable in squat position 😅
The one reason for having security guards here in PH is to prevent possible crimes since PH doesn't have much policemen or the ratio of police to community were not enough so they need to have elements that would help them prevent crimes to happen. Fruits with salt is usually normal just to balance the flavor of the fruits, we love sweet, sour and salty. You can also see weird combination of flavors with Filipinos. Public restrooms are owned by private individual, they're just putting signage that it is public restroom because everyone can use the restroom but needed to pay. You were actually right, PH hospitals were expensive. One reason why Filipinos were afraid getting sick because of hospitals that are so expensive and if you went to public hospitals, the service is bad as well as the facilities. 😊
One of the things my parents did was to put salt on watermelon. I used to put salt on cucumbers, watermelons are pretty much a cucumber, so it makes sense.
Great Culture shock vlog Lynn. You are great as always. We Filipinos love Christmas. It is a tradition. That is why it is long for us. Also love fried chicken. Unfortunately, the health sector in the Philippines is not that good compare to other countries. That is why being hospitalized is very expensive if you do not have a good health card/ insurance. Take care always beautiful Lynn. I am your number 1 admire. ❤🥰💞
Baby, Since your topic is chicken and pineapple then you should try one of Filipinos delicacy which is pininyahang manok. Chicken with pineapple and evaporated milk. Your mom will like it, since she likes fruits. You should ask Jessica Lee for collaboration you two are cute 🥰
Dang that chicken meal part where Lynn Kim describes. The Chicken without rice part sounds like how people here in the USA eat chicken. The mall part I was amazed that in the Philippines the mall is booming there. Here in the United States we hear about Amazon and Ebay killing off the malls. Also the part about malls having security guards that depends which neighborhood you are in within the states and gun control laws vary by state. I have the same culture shock too but in my case I was born in the USA but my entire family is from the Philippines. i had to learn two languages in the Philippines like Tagalog (National Language and whenever we are in Manila) and Kapampangan (Provincial) . Philippines is a multi culture country.
You can go to the doctor first and will prescribe your medications. Don't go to hospital right away not unless it is an emergency. You can google doctors around your area and doctor's fee is affordable.
There's a public hospitals and pravite hospital public is much cheaper than pravite. About CR it's free to all restaurant's but in public market or public transportation or terminal you have to pay.
Cockfight (rooster) is a tradition in Philippines dates back i dont know when it really started..its a gambling game. Legal or illegal, people bet on which rooster wins.. they only use rooster to be on cockfights and they even put blades on the feet so it is quite a bloody fight😓😭. But these roosters are trained and well breed..and are expensive.
Cockfighting is a terrible practice and it should illegal. It is very cruel to the animals. That is one thing I wish I could change about the Philippines as a Filipina. Animals have rights too!😢
@@ElizabethChee-rj7bnThen don't eat pigs; it's so cruel to eat them too, right? Countries have different cultures about animals; our culture about chicken is a lot better than eating dog culture in Korea.
You only put salt on the pineapple if it was still not that ripe resulting it to being sour. Try it, the sourness disappears if you put a tad of salt on it.
Most hospital are private. Some are cheap but there are also expensive ones especially if it is one of the 5 major hospital in the philippines. I do not sit on the toilet seat if I'm in public toilet. We do the squat to pee.
Culture shock is common to foreigners who are in a different country .When I visited Tokyo, it was shocking to find shower rooms at the airport. You can sleep in coffin like pull-out beds. Lady cleaners do their chores at men's washroom, etc. My comment about many security guards with guns, due to the large crowd entering malls, it's a way tofore warn shoplifters, trouble makers, hold uppers, etc. of their presence. Compared to U.S , gun violence is rampant including mass killings. That's not the case in the Philippines .About eating fried chicken, I prefer to eat it at KFC. 😀minus the rice.
The expensive hospital have high technology aparatus while in cheap hospital dont have that much, and in cheap hospital in ome room have many bed and patient unlike in expensive the room is exclusive for your patient
Hospital 🏥 was so expensive it defense to private or public And the Nurse and doctor they need public experience before can go to private hospitals which much high salary I would say really really expensive when you go to hospital specially with Hospital with a Name's because they cure and do miracle healing 👌👌👌
civilians can own a gun but they need to undergo many tests to acquire one and its expensive unless you are rich... but illegal firearms are rampant in the Philippines as well
Your family should get medical insurance so that when you get sick or have medical check ups,it will be less burden. Try AXA,INTEGRA GLOBAL. These are a few of health insurance in the Philippines that cater to foreigners. Visit their office in your place.
Some Restaurant have a self service for customer her manila, but it's so expensive, have you try the Pineapple on a spicy bagoong ? try it if you haven't there are kind of Hospital here in the Philippines, Private Hospital and Public Hospital, Private hospital is Expensive, and for the public toilet, idk but in my place in Manila you don't need to pay for public toilet but some public toilet here in metro manila will cost you 5 peso
Actually most restrooms in the Philippines are really messy, wet floor, no tissue, and no cover. Like me, I bring my own tissue, paper towel and wetwipes. I also bring a super small liquid soap, and will just buy a bottled water incase I will do no. 2. While a lot has no toilet cover, i stand and squat position so my legs will not touch the dirty bowl. But i do not step in the bowl, it's a no no. Restroom experience is kinda not a good experience in the Philippines. Unless you're in a hotel, exclusive malls or establishments.
🥰About the pineapple we sometime dip it with sugar too like if the pineapple is so sour, it was reallly depends on the pineapples taste haha because we most likely find a way to make the taste more balance or perfect for our preferences. Yea I'm glad to hear your honest reaction about your culture shocks in the Philippines of your 1 year living in there. Hope you find more new things to explore and adapt really really well in future, I also love how you can adapt so well in the Philippines. 대박! ✨💖
private hospitals are so expensive because they manage by a private company government hospitals are free they manage by to government of the philippines but the line is so very long before they can assisst you it will took 45 years hahaha
Hi Lynn, permit me to comment on your comments. 1). Chickens are not for Pet. Pilipinos raise Chickens for their Eggs and Meat. While Roosters (Male Chicken) are for Gambling or Cockfighting. Some owners of Chickens have a housing or called Coop but others just let it roam around their yard but sometimes it goes out on the streets. And mostly you'll find it in the Province. 2). Philippine Christmas Season is the longest because it started from September to First week of January. In fact the season starts Sept. 16 because it is the start of the 100 Days Countdown till Christmas Eve which is Dec. 25. And First Sunday of January or Jan. 6 is the Feast of the Three Wisemen. Korea is not much on Christmas Celebration because Korea is not a Christian Nation compared to the Philippines which is about 95% Christians. Korean Religion mostly is Buddhism and Confucianism and very few Christians and the Majority has No Religion. 3). There are two kinds of Hospitals in the Philippines namely; Government Hospitals which are Cheaper and Private Hospitals that are really Costly. 4). Pilipinos used to put a little Salt on Pineapples, Santol, and Green Mangoes because it enhances the taste. 5). Almost all Restaurants or Fast Food Chains are not Self-Service because they hire Waiters and Waitresses to help and for clean up. While those Restaurants offering a Buffet Style, it's Self Service. 6). Not only Malls have Security Guards but also Banks and other Establishments both Government and Private. Because in the past there were many incidents of Shop-Liftings, Hold-Ups and Bombings by bad elements. 7). Many Rest Rooms or Comfort Rooms (CR) used to ask payments for using it and many enrich their pockets because of these. So the Government declared it illegal to ask any payment. But some still do it for their own gains. BTW Lynn, is it not also a Culture Shock when you arrived in the Philippines that Pilipinos used to greet you even if you don't know them like, Hi, Good Morning, Welcome to the Philippines, Bye, Be Safe, Annyeong, God Bless etc. Did the Friendliness of Pilipinos not shocked you? Pilipinos always smile and even wave at your Camera. Is it not also a Culture Shock?
Hi..Beautiful Lynn cant you talk about Bullies in korea because i realy love korean movie I watch Netflix that movie is truth Beauty and one scene of movie is Bullies Because one of student is ugly is it True in korea i hope you not mad
Korea is more safe, less crime rate than Ph wherin crimes happen every day just like a normal day. Also Koreans are more disciplined. sige react mga Pinoy Jan, kung Hindi totoo
You are racist toward your own countries, not knowing even the safest place in the world has crimes. Don't be ignorant; no one in the world is a saint. Korea has multiple stabbing incidents, and Japan has too many crimes happening. Just because you don't know what's happening outside the Philippines doesn't mean you know everything. Don't be stupid.
