Hey Sylvanas! My Korean bestie Bokyung and I tried to cook Leche Flan for the first time and it was sooooo frustrating lol Is it usually this hard to do this at first?!?! Is it only us?! Please let us know… We’d love to know if what we go through is normal (except for the parts we being so dumb hahha) What should we cook next?!

100% understandable that everybody messed up with the caramelization process when they were starting to cook a flan, this is the most chaotic one I have seen so far 😆

When pouring the canned milk, either the evaporated or condensed milk, put another small hole on the opposite of the pouring hole. This will make the milk to pour out much faster. 🙂

tip if you want to make it at home using your own kitchen wares. (Kina long tho) MOLDER - you can use the one we are using for cream brúle the porcelane one so you can divide it and take it home afterwards (visitors (just transfer it to a canister)). OR the earthen pot(?) or even the stainless rice bowl that you have at home would be perfect for leche flan and CARAMELIZED sugar and Flavorings: caramelizing the sugar is the trickiest part of doing this dish (another tip) i put a few drops of kalamansi or lemon just mix it properly while the caramelizing so it'll avoid the crystalization of it. and then the zest of the lemon too if you don't have vanilla extract. since in the PH they commonly used the zest of the dayap/lime instead of vanilla extract esp in the province, just put the zest while mixing the mixture before straining it. STEAMER/ing: aside from the oven, you can also use your own dumpling steamer tho the cooking process will be much longer. like an hour per batch. well it still depends on how much you put in your container/molder. just bring the water to a boil first then lower the heat to medium then put the molder with tge mixture. always cover it with foil. EGG WHITE - if it's clean like, only egg whites (no yellow thing at all and shells) do it as mirengue just add a little cream of tartar or lemon zest until you got the icing texture then bake.

The whole video is so chaotic and stressful and funny... i love it! I wanna like jump in and help you guys with caramelizing the sugar and even opening the can of condensed milk.. lol it's easier to pour out the content of that can if you made two holes ( : ) 😁 or just open the whole lid of the can using knife. but I'm glad you didn't do that because it might cause injury if you're not used to doing it. You can slways use oven when you aren't using steamer but you still have to put water under, like give it a steam bath. Basically you have to use the baking tray (with water in it) and place the container with the mixture on it. Good thing the flan turned out so well despite everything. Congratulations on ur 1st try. 🥂😁😊

A happy and funny cooking video again. Congratulations for making leche flan successfully!! You can gift that to your frinds and family during a celebration. Try making ube leche flan next! Btw, you can make the egg whites part into an angel cake so not to waste it. Fyi, put 2 holes opposite each other on the can so it pours out quickly. 2 holes allows air in to the can while liquid pours out the other.😊

The beautiful vivacious "bruhas" are back! 🥰 LECHE FLAN is the easiest dessert to prepare and cook. To caramelized sugar is just let the sugar to melt in the pan in slow fire or low heat and stirring it occasionally til it turns to syrup like liqiud. Do not add water! Then while it hot, you may transfer it now to the baking dish and leave it here. Getting rid of bubbles is when you mixed all the ingredients in the bowl and you may strain the whole batter in the baking dish with the carallelized sugar and steam it for 45 minutes! Its funny Bokyung is so funny pressing the can of milk like doing laundry clothes! 😀Enjoy planned flan! 🍻🍻

After watching so many videos of both you and Bokyung cooking filipino dishes, only on this video made me doubt both of your cooking skills, I was laughing all the time watching you caramelize the sugar (a simple task for most but need to be perfect on the timing) and mixing the eggs but I give you both an A+ for the effort. Also it seems Sylvia already seemed to have drunk too many beers while caramelizing the sugar.hahaha.. Nice episode and should be included in your epic fails video collections. Pro tips: 1.get a can opener. 2. you can boil that can of condensed milk in a pot of water fully cover the can with water while in the pot, get to simmer for 4 hours, make sure you check ever 45 minutes and top it off, YOU MUST KEEP THE TOPS COVERED IN WATER or it could explode, you'll have a whole can of caramel to use.

lol. 2 ways to do the caramel. melt sugar on low heat or if you want a less thick consistency stir the water and the sugar until completely dissolved then you heat it on low heat while stirring (this will be like the consistency of the syrup in taho if you dont evaporate all of the water).

It’s normal for sugar to be candied after melting. When you steam or bake the flan, it will melt again and that becomes the caramelized topping.l when flipped over.

it's a good idea! You guys should sell that in S. Korea, but you better adjust the sweetness cause it's might be too sweet for others. Another tip, try adding a little bit of gelatin so it could hold it's shape more.

You could use a ramekin mold for leche plan On making a caramel you could try double boiler process or in and out on the fire source Next is mix the egg and milk condensed before using the strainer and in the Philippines we use calamansi and put the skin on the mixture then remove it before we cook it On opening can without a can opener try using a knife poke 2 hole same side of the can

For the condensed milk, to pour the milk faster, just make two holes across each other on the top of the can. 😊

You can never go wrong with eggs and milk it will always taste delicious, you can also make yema, its easier You struggled so much because you didn't have the right tools like can opener and strainer. But kudos you did a great job, your flan looks amazing but you're right ideally you flip but not always necessary. Good job!!!!

Best is if you transfer the leche flan in flat container like plate nd the caramelized sugar is on top. You can do it y putting the plate on top facing down then over turn the whole thing.

If you have like a microwaveable molders you can put sugar in there and let it caramelized in the oven or in here we used stainlesa steel called Llanera then put sugar in it and caramelised it on stove top.😊

you do the caramelization of sugar when the leche flan micture is ready to transfer, because the melted sugar will easiy solidify. If ever it will solidify it is okay because when you cook it it will melt downagain just make sure you put melted sugar in right spot

Put sugar in a pot and add water until it's the consistency of wet sand. Cook off sugar and water mixture until it's amber color (Just swirl the pan and don't mix it). Pour in the molds. Pour your custard mix in the molds. Cook in bain-marie. Good effort though!

add water and sugar at once and cook it in low heat. and put 2 holes in the milk can in the opposite side so it can drip faster. steaming is better than oven

I do suggest for you to use a serving spoon for it to have a longer shelf life. It easily gets spoiled if eaten without a serving spoon.

When letting the condence milk out of the can there must be 2 holes on opposite side one hole for milk output one hole for the air to get in to push the milk out faster
