So this baby is super cute. I definitely would have wanted to hold her immediately, but the best way to get a baby's attention is to ignore it. Babies are naturally curious and will come to investigate you if you give them a chance. They're also much more interested in eating whatever you are eating. So I would have started eating the snack a little bit while ignoring the baby until she approached me with her hand out.
Kids are more perceptive than they get credit for. They were so hyper she knew this was not the norm. And since babies can still tell if they are being handled by strangers no wonder she cried. Its their automatic response to everything they do not like.
My little suggestion for approaching toddler is make sure we make eye contact and simple yet genuine smile to them for the very first time, and don't make any sound until we're sure they feel safe around us. After that, we can communicate with them better than approaching by talking to them at first
@@TriningsihRahmawati_89 My mom worked as a "daymother". Always since i was little there was atleast 6 children at our house. They went there instead of a daycare. More personal thing. She gained the trust of the kids by just being her, from the moment they came. Just a smile and a hello.
they were doing challenges with the kids most kids wouldn’t be as shy as her this kid probably isn’t used to seeing others besides her parents or maybe it’s because she doesn’t understand Korean I don’t know but it wasn’t the girls fault they were being really kind yes they were pushy with her because she is a very shy kid and maybe she just wasn’t the right kid for these type of videos since she was so afraid and shy.

I’m a white American and while I loooove Koreans I can tell the baby was scared bc she was approached way too frantically. The two girls are so sweet but very hyper, which probably freaked the little girl out. Edit: also she couldn’t understand them.. and by two years (which she seems) she already had an understanding of English and this was just too strange to her. Still love the video though. We should all be more universal.

It seemed like a good learning experience for both of the young women and maybe for Lydia and her parents as well. This wpuld be a good experience especially if one of the young women would soon be engaged to marry. Even if not, cultural traditions such as grandparents raising children or doing the babysitting, rather than teenage girls, can keep babies at a distance, as can not having siblings with children or a busy professional career. Peek-a-boo and playing dead often work, so they were good efforts that just didn't work in this particular case. I'm surprised there was no 'Baby don't cry!" improvised lullaby or a "Let's put our socks on!" song. There are lots of helpful suggestions in the comments so everyone can learn a bit from this video, try other methods or ponder the cause of the failures. It's common for infants to be shy of strangers so maybe these missions were doomed to fail from the start, but maybe they were good exposure to strangers for Lydia as well. The video is amusing, touching/heart breaking and entertaining but could also be something from which all viewers could learn at least one thing. Thank you for sharing this video with the world and a big thank you to Lydia's parents and to the young women for bravely allowing others to see their failed mission attempts.
I'm Lidia also haha I've recently learned it's an old lady name, at least in central/eastern european countries and I didn't know! haha I'm from Spain and it's a normal name here, there was another Lidia/Lydia in my class when I was little and we're 3 at my work. I'm glad to see there's babies named like this elsewhere!
@@laurateixeira4182 here in spain it isn't super common, like Maria, Marta, Laura, but still pretty normal and the peak of naming a baby Lidia is between the 80's-2000's, so mostly millenials as myself haha There aren't that many children named Lidia nowadays but there isn't many grannies either haha
They probably failed because the kid were scared to meet them,first,you should make some jokes or gestures to make the baby laugh,try interacting their parents,and you just start trying to look like a friend to them,cuz babys are very instinctive human beings,if u don't interact with them right,they would start crying, the girls were not so bad in making the baby happy,but they should think as a baby too,like,if they were the baby friend,how they would talk and interact? Maybe they've been training for being an idols for a long time till they dont have time to spend with families and kids.. So its not suprising if theyre not into kids or just dont know how to treat babies very well.. Not their fault tho.. But yeah theyre very happy to see those little souls

Absolutely hilarious! Strangely, small children, especially girls seem to like me right off. I'm not handsome, nor am I outgoing, but they almost always want my attention. Guess I am just that non-threatening.
Personally, I think that since they love babies, they just got too excited and the kid, knowing that she she didn’t know that two girl she probably got scared and went into a scared place and just wanted her dad back
