I hate when they go “this is a 5/10 because it’s not done the way I was taught” despite the era being depicted and what is taught now are 80 years apart.
@@cpttankerjoe What I don't like are reactors who claim to be "veterans" but can't really back it up when someone calls them out. I've seen videos with "Marine reacts..." or "Veteran reacts..." but don't really have anything to show for.
@@M4skedBoi I am not denying the fact that he is a SEAL and a great solider who passed all of the trainings, but its notable for his actions which were illegal and he was charged,,, firstly, he went to Ukraine to participate in the war against Russian invasion when the Korean government banned any passport activity in the Ukraine due to political reasons (I 100% respect that he actually went to Ukraine to fight against the invasion, BUT this is also a controversy as he claimed during his trial that he fled to Poland after participating in the war because it was too life threatening and dangerous but Poland border did not accept him and he had to stay on the border) second, he got charged for reckless driving and hit-and-run. And he has a record of sexual harassment. He was also under arrest for fleeing in the middle of Korean military training (which is compulsory for all male korean nationals).. and since he got famous after appearing in RU-vid videos and korean tv shows, he has been active as an "influencer" as well, and there is another controversy story to this as well.. anyway he was charged 2 years of probation for going to Ukraine and the hit-and-run

First Blackhawk Down scene in this video. The guy on the right with the M249 was not a Machine-Gunner, he was an Automatic-Rifleman. Guy on the left with the M60 was a Machine-Gunner. The late 80’s and early 90’s were kind of weird time for US Army doctrine, where the Machine-Gunner and Auto-Rifleman were essentially the same role besides the difference in ammunition they carry. Since then, they have become distinctly different roles.
What's interesting is that Ewan Bremner, who played Nelson, was partially deafened while filming the scene with Tom Hardy as Twombly. The real Nelson was also deafened during the real firefight but I can't remember if he really was partnered with Twombly while separated from the other Rangers.
I found it interesting that a left handed actor was made the M60 gunner. It couldn't have been much fun with the links and shells ejecting near his face.

In the movie Blackhawk Down, that "strobe unit" wasn't accurate. the Delta and Rangers had portable IR strobes attached to their gear and the little birds lit up anyone not strobing (it was mentioned in the book)
Randy Shughart had an AIM-1 infrared laser aiming light on his M-14…so he was IR laser equipped, along with a few other operators I’m sure…only issue with the video, otherwise well done!
The scene where the woman runs away from teh soldiers and then goes for a hidden gun reminds me of when some friends (three females, I was surprised they chose the movie) of mine rented Apocalypse Now in High School. There was the village attack scene. When the young attractive village woman started running against the crowd, I quietly said, "shoot her." As she got closer to toward the helicopter, I said it louder. My friends looked at me funny. I am a generally nice guy. That comment was out of character. Then the helicopter blew up. I then said, "You should have shot her." That's when my friends asked my what those comments were about. We rewound the tape (this was on VCR) and I pointed out that everyone was running away. Why should she be running against the cowd toward the attacking Americans? Also, look at her hat. Why is she so careful to hold onto the straw hat? There are people with guns shooting up your village. Why do you care so much about the hat? As she got close to the helicopter, I told my friends to keep an eye on the hat. For those of you who never saw the movie, she threw the hat (which seem a bit heavy for straw) into the helicopter and two seconds later, the helicopter exploded.
