I think Sandara opened a lot of doors for the Korean culture to be known in the Philippines. Naturally bridging Korean and Philippine culture. Her kababayan vibes cones out whenever she meets filipinos outside the Philippines, shows her Filipino by heart.
Shes the very reason why KPOP, KDrama and K-Culture is so famous in the Philippines. She promotes Korea in the Philippines, and promotes Philippines in Korea.
KPop I can understand. Not sure about KDramas because at the time in 2003, KDramas also started to air on Philippine television at the time when Taiwanese dramas (F4) was dominating.
another reason why she's still very famous in the Philippines despite all her activities in Korea is because of her love for the Philippines. She never fails to mention Philippines.
Dara was embraced by the Filipinos because of her humble beginnings when she joined Star Circle Quest. She's named as Pambansang Krung-Krung(literal translation Nation's Crazy) her crazy but adorable side made Filipino's loved her, I still remember her saying Mahal ko kayo(I love you) while waving and crying in front of the judges and she also said she'll jump in the building if she won't win in the show- her craziness and authenticity is on another level. She's also very funny. Sandara Park and also Ryan Bang -two Koreans that are embraced in Philippine entertainment industry. Ryan Bang also shared that he was offered to be a trainee in SM Entertainment CEO before but he chose to stay & pursue his career in the Philippines
Seriously because of Sandara i got to know the kpop/ korean culture, also wherever countries Sandara goes as long there are filipinos she will be known as our Pambansang krung krung, the singer of IN OR OUT aside of being a 2ne1 member.😊
Sandara treats the Philippines as a home. Despite her success in her home country (Korea), she never forgot the Philippines. This only doubled the support that Filipinos are giving her. She is like the National Daughter. Our National Krung-krung. Whenever she comes back to the Philippines, it feels like having a relative coming back from abroad 😂. To be fair, as well, it was due to Sandara why the Philippines got so much into KPOP. Her debut opened that world to the Filipinos.
Taiwanese people are really famous here in the Philippines back then 'coz of Meteor Garden (year 2002) but when Sandara Park became a household name, Hallyu wave, kdramas and kpop prosper in our country up to this day. Personally, she is the reason why I knew kpop. 😊
@@filipinohomecookingBright Girl was the first Kdrama shown in the Philippines. But it was Endless Love: Autumn in my Heart was what started the KDrama binge watching every night for most Filipinos.
@@filipinohomecooking Korea should thank Meteor Garden because Filipinos used to watch Mexican series only and listen to American singers only like Britney, Cristina A, Westlife, Nysnc etc. For Filipinos, Thalia was the standard of beauty back then until Meteor Garden fever. Everybody was crazy about Barbie Hsu. I remember during Kris Aquino interview with Barbie Hsu, she said "I am thankful to you because of you, Filipinos with chinky eyes are now considered beautiful in the Philippines". I actually had no idea about Korea before. I only knew China, Japan, and Taiwan until Abscbn Tagalized Lovers in Paris, I was hooked, and then I watched Jewel in the Palace and Jumong. I have never watched Endless Love, and Full House until now even The Descendants of the Sun. My turning point to becoming a Kdrama fan was Crash Landing On You.
Sandara Park is a very charismatic individual. She is very natural and has a kind heart. Filipinos saw those qualities and that is why even if she does not appear on daily TV in the country, Filipinos still love her and give her attention whenever she visits The Philippines. Mahal ka namin Sandy 🐰🧡
I really think Sandara is the reason why kpop suddenly became very famous in the Philippines. She suddenly disappeared in Philippine showbiz and then we heard about her being part of this Korean girl group (2ne1) then we got curious about kpop culture and the rest is history 😊
Which ever country she goes, there are always Filipinos. And she connects with them in an instant. That's why it contributed to the rise of kpop all over the world.
I could still remember crying when she won. I was still in highschool back then and I used up my load to vote for her. I love her and so proud of all that she has achieved. She is an inspiration to the Filipino people.
Sandara play a big role why KPop become famous in the Philippines and Filipino love her so much until this day.😊 I watch all her movies and she really nailed all roles given to her.. We love you Dara😊
Sandara is Korean by blood, and Filipino at heart ❤ she knows the Filipino culture and the Tagalog language very well, just as much as she knows the Korean culture and language, 'coz she grew up and lived here in the Philippines for a long time ❤ she became famous here when she joined and won as a first runner up in a talent competition reality show ❤ she's loved by Filipinos not only because of her humor and personality, but also because of her genuine love for the people and the country ❤ she's the very first Korean who got famous here, and all the interest that we have for Korea including kpop, it all started from her, especially when she became a member of one of the biggest kpop girl group, 2NE1 ❤❤
She opened the gates for Kpop and Koreans to be recognized here in PH. Girl can even enter PH without presenting her passport and get a VIP treatment, she's that valued and loved by Filipinos. Maybe coz up till now, she's the same Sandara that we love. Down to earth, kind and very appreciative to our culture.
Sandara Park is not famous in the Philippines because she became an artist here She's famous and not being forgotten by filipinos because of her kind hearted and down to earth personality. She is the reason why KPOP is known in the Philippines.
Sandara before becoming famous in Korea was very popular in the Philippines, she had not been a member of kpop before. I remember when I was ten years old when I was already watching . That's why she is so grateful to the Filipinos for their support. That's why she became famous. he is also in korea
That’s exactly how I became a fan of 2ne1, I was a Sandara Park fan during my elementary school years. She disappeared for a bit and I found out in 2009 she was debuting as 2ne1. It was also how I got into Kpop. 😊 She is that influential in spreading Hallyu in the Philippines.
If Koreans only knew how Sandara was able to open the PH general public's perception on Koreans specifically KPOP. Her impact in the Philippines is so big despite being active only for 3 years in our country. Her name being imprinted to every Filipinos may it be young, adult or the elders.
She's the reason why i know KPOP and kdrama .. 2ne1 is the first KPOP IDOL i Stan because of her 💯💯💯 I'M STILL A FAN OF DARA 🇵🇭 it's crazy because i was elementary school when i become a fan of her 😅😅 i always dress up like her 😂😂
She became much more popular than the winner and the finalists in that contest at that time. It was almost like she won the contest. And then she became even more famous after joining 2NE1. And because of her 2NE1 and Kpop became popular in the Philippines. She is loved in the Philippines because she loves the country too.
No one can deny the fact that Kpop blew up in the Philippines because of Sandara Park! She is obviously very grateful to the Filipino fans and her adoptive country. I think it also helps that she speaks the language and people can relate to her because of her humble beginnings. Her fame didn't go up her head. She stayed humble and grateful. Another reason why I'm such a big fan of her since I was 10. It was exhilarating to see another foreigner on tv who also struggled with living in the Philippines as a child. I hope her mom is now living a more comfortable and happier life after her father abandoned them in the Philippines. Anyway, Handa Studio, if you haven't already, I think you should cover Ryan Bang too. His life story is similar to Sandara!
Sandara our National Krung-Krung (Pambansang Krungkrung). She an actress in the Philippines, she also had Shampoo Commercial also. As a Filipino we are proud of her too coz she never forget the Philippines.. We love Sandy forever.. ❤❤❤
We actually have quite a few of korean celebrities, host singers and news personel here. We have Sam Oh, Dasuri Choi, Ryan Bang, Grace Lee, Shine Kuk, Sandra Jung, Jinho Bae.. Sam Oh being one of the first to have landed her own tv show called Rated Oh!(2005) and she's a seasoned newspaper columnist in manila times. She been working here for the longest time.
@@dizznut1 Not really, i think sandara and sam oh started at the same year (2004) it's just that Sandara was more popular because everyone watches SCQ but Sam Oh was a tv host at that time. And i also remember that there was an another korean who was a like in morning news or talkshow before them, i just couldn't remember the name coz it was too long ago but i have a feight memory to that i was watching that korean girl in morning talk show while preparing to go for my HS graduation it was yr 2000.
Im Gen Z but ive always knew she was famous in the Philippines. After seeing this video, no wonder she's so LOYAL to the Philippines. We helped her jump start her career. We love you 4ever Sandara❤️❤️🔥
Fan fact: most Filipinos don't know that Dara/Sandara Park is part of 2ne1... What all they know is just Sandara.😊😊 She's very popular here even in urban areas of this country.😊😊but she is the reason why kpop are being popular here in the Philippines.
I remember Sandara said that being 2nd is the best place to get as a foreigner and not the 1st place. I think more people became her fan because of being 2nd place. We really love her
Philippines began a liking to Kdramas and Kpop because of SanDara Park and now Philippines is one of the fans and market of Kpop thanks to seeet darahling Dara 💖🌸 After Dara became a Phenomenon here, the national TV Network Abs launched Meteor Garden the first Asianovela show in the Philippines and then F4 became phenomenon too. Dara is the pioneer where it all started reason many asianovela shows and kdrama shows became a hit in the Philippines. It all started with Dara. We still love her and protect her unto this day, besides being very charismatic and multi talented artist, she is a very naturally beautiful person from the inside and out. Natural beauty and natural kindness, even she is popular she is still kind and humble no wonder she is still popular and blesse until now and almost all male Oppa Kpop artists and Korean actors had a crush on her before. God bless Dara keep reaching your dreams I am happy for her solo album and I also want her to have songs for Korean Drama OSTs it suits her sweet angelic voice she has so much much emotions when she sings. 🎶💖🌸💐💕 Also I want her to be on a Korean drama Her beautitul face, acting skills and beautiful personality is fit for it. Here in The Philippines she had shows, tv series and movies. Excited for her Kdrama show to come. She is like beautifully young forever because of her beautiful youthful soul. God bless Daraxxii ! 💖🌸
You know ..because of her...ms.sandara park ...pambansang krung krung of the philippines...was the big factor that pilipinos learn to love and embrace korean culture...from music.movies..food ..beauty products and everything korea has to offer...so place a big value to ms...sandara park...as the pilipinos love her up till now 🥂🌼
just you guys know.,,,kpop should be thankful to sandara park because shes the reason why kdrama/kpop and other things about korea loved in the philippine.,,korea is known in ph but not popular but after sandara popularity in ph and debut in 2n1 korea become well known in ph.
Sandara is very famous in the Philippines, at her prime she was the MOST famous celebrity here (just to give you an idea of how famous she was). She was a Phenomenon.
I started knowing idols/artists from korea because of her,. i don't even know kpop exist at that time 😂 dara really is the reason why i got into kpop because of 2ne1 and then bigbang up until now i support them🧡💜💚💛👑👑👑👑👑
Sandara is a Korean with a Filipino heart. That's why Filipinos love her. I hope every Korean realize how much most of us love their (your) culture. From KFood, KPop, KDrama and everything. It just saddens me to watch/read some articles saying that other Koreans, if not all, have different perceptions with Filipinos. If only all of you have a heart like Sandara for Filipinos, it would really be great. No hate here, I also love Korea, its culture and its people. :)
You know how there are many islands in the Philippines, right? Sandara is famous everywhere and she needs to travel even with helicopter just to go around. She is really well loved.
As you can see in the video, Sandara was part of top 5 and on the verge of being eliminated before the grand finals. But she was saved by the textvotes of the Filipino fans who fell in love with her charm. It was the first time in Philippine history (even in game shows or reality shows) that textvotes reaches a million and so Sandara did that.(*Note: at that time, there is still no online voting or unlimited texts, so you can only vote with 1 sim per contestant. Imagine, a million Filipinos texted/voted for her just to be saved. That's how famous she is especially back then. And she is pure blooded Korean/ no Filipino blood.) That episode was a very emotional experience when she was saved and became part of the grand finalist and ended as Second Placer after Hero Angeles. So Sandara was really that famous, that even grandmas knew her because that time, we don't have much internet to watch RU-vid or Tiktok, only television and radios. So every night, we watched Sandara's whole journey to being famous, to being an actress,, comercial model, singer, etc. Her song In or Out can be heard everywhere, in TV commercials, in radios, even by children in school. Am I In or Out? 😂 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8BwLbjhpRu4.htmlsi=1Acw3MOmvOVFlTeg Here is a link of Koreans who also reacted on some Famous Koreans in the Philippines. And Sandara is really considered as the Sunbaenim and after she started to join 2NE1, people started to listen more to korean songs and so we discover what's Kpop. It's like my childhood started with Mexican telenovelas like Rosalinda, then shifted to Taiwanese like Meteor Garden era and then after Sandara went back to Korea, then it shifted to Kpop (Nobody, Fire, etc.). We Filipinos were so proud of her success and what she've become!
She is a darling thats why shes famous in Philippines until now. She left Philippines to join the training for 2n1 during thr pick of her carrier. So, it was quit a big deal for her.
Yes thats true Sandara is really famous in the Philippines before her debut in Korea. Sandara is most loved young star she got movies,tv shows and tv ads.. until now she is famous❤❤❤❤❤
I kept hearing about Sandra’s Park way before I even knew about Kpop. She is so famous in the Philippines. I didn’t know who she was, just that her name would pop up in conversations from time to time.
Sandara actually became the door for introducing Korean Culture and Traditions to Filipinos. She's the reason why Filipinos love Korean Dramas, KPop, Korean Food, learning Hangul and travelling to Korea.
Another reason why she's still famous here in the Philippines and why Filipinos love her is because of how she shows love for this country. She treats our country as her own and her home. She loves the culture and even promotes Philippines more than other Filipino does. She always speaks positively of Filipinos and is not afraid of defending the Philippines to her own countrymen. She loves both her country and our country. That's why Filipinos loves her and appreciates her so much! Tbh not only her, but her whole family as well.
Sandara is a great Ambassador. She promoted Korea in the Philippines and she promoted Philippines in Korea. It was during her time in ABS CBN the Kpop and Kdrama exploded in Philippine media.
Sandra Park became famous here in the Philippines because before abs CBN searching talents star circle quest and won 2nd place, she look a like before famous actress sanchai from Taiwan tv series meteor garden.
Hey she also has a movies, and lots of endorsement 😊 and a songs that almost fipilino sang with it and we called her krung-krung as her nickname 😅 shes beautiful
This is just an opinion of mine. Growing up watching SCQ and being a fan of Sandara Park since then, kpop and k culture would not have been so popular globally if not for Sandara Park. Tbh, I never even knew about Korea at all. Now, I love so many things about the country. Makeup, music, skin care, tech, their traditions, fashion, food!
Sandara is the first reason why Filipinos loved the Koreans. Sandara was cute, cheerful, shy, gullible, sometimes crying because she was having a hard time speaking when she started as a host, as an actress, and she was a good singer, that's why Filipinos loved her. Sandara came here first, and then Ryan Bang, and the the Kpop groups came, the Korean drama came. And here we are now, everybody loves Korean now.
Im a Filipino. Im a big fan when Sandara entered Star Circle Quest. She was 2nd place during her Star Circle Days. I even voted for her everytime shes in danger for elimination. She always got highest votes .I love Sandara even until now.
I voted for her at that show, Star Circle Quest. I watch every single episodes until the finals. She has 1.7M votes at that time and her opponent, Hero, got only 700k votes in the final voting. I love her. She's adorable, she's so beautiful, and she is called, Krung-krung. So beautiful. Love love love.❤❤❤❤❤
If safe to say that Sandara embodies everything that is positive about South Korea. Hard work, humility, kindness ect. every boy would want to introduce her to their mother.
As she always said when arriving at the airport she didn't have to show her passport cause she will be recognised right away. She's really loved by many Filipinos 😊
It also has to be noted that one of the reasons why she also got popular was east asian dramas were starting to get popular in the philippines particularly Meteor Garden. If you looked for her love team, her "partner" back then did resemble the shy, sensitive type of guy which was popular in east asian dramas back then. Then there will be a surge of korean nationals in the country as the philippines became an affordable option to those who wanted who wanted to study abroad and also learn english. It was the perfect moment for Sandara then. Years later she wanted to have a more mature image and even posed for a men's magazine (fhm i think or was it maxim) then she came back to her country and let's just say the rest is history.
I'm 27 now, during the 2ne1 era, and Wonder Girls I got to know K-pop and Kdrama from high school to college but suddenly lost interest after they disbanded and now back again to support our very own #Hori7on
The reason I started liking Kpop is because of 2ne1..since Sandara Park is there. I have love her since I was in my grade school days. Love her movies and songs and those dance steps of hers 😂. When I first listened to Kpop or any Ksong..I really don't like it but when I first listened to Lollipop of Bigbang where 2ne1 is featured and saw Sandara there.. dang! I really missed her so much in the Philippines showbiz. My Barkada is a huge fan of 2ne1 due to Sandara Park 😂❤
