The ‘Dongsuimgyul [동심결 매듭] ’ means ‘The Lovers Knot’ or ‘True Lover’s Knot’ because of its intertwining nature symbolic of love, friendship, and affection. Its literal shape translation is ‘Concentric’ in English denoting circles or shapes sharing the same center which ironically, is still symbolic of a couple’s love.
This video will show how to use these knots to adorn/decorate a hand-fan, but it can also be used as key-chains on bags.
Note: The strings can be found in any Market or Store, called ‘Wax Rope Cord’ or ‘stiff cotton cord’, or you can visit the Korean Cultural Centre Abuja, to obtain strings, free of charge! (While stocks last!)
Fun-Fact:
Did you know that if a young couple wanted to test if their love would last, each would take a small limb of a tree and tie a lover's knot. If the knot held and grew for approximately a year, their love would stay true.

I've actually wondered why they always held a significance to this in the traditional Korean culture. This video is enlightening.
