Just to be sure no one is confused: I LOVE brands like The Ordinary and CeraVe for their accessibility, simple formulas, and affordability. But I prefer Korean skin care overall because of their superior formulas and technology! (ie my skin care routines are always mostly made up of Korean skin care lol) 💖

Hyram Hi Hyram! I have a question. So recently I’ve been getting bumps between my chin and my lower lip. They’re just hard bumps of skin. They’re not red and they don’t go away. I used to have them on my nose but those went away after a couple of years. It’s just annoying, do you have any recommendations?

Omg I thought I was only person who thought this too. They always comment things like I don’t trust you I only trust hyram on random people’s videos who are stating facts/opinions about skincare and the video says things hyram always says in his yt videos. they just watch him on TikTok which I mean there’s nothing wrong with that but you can’t go around telling other people things because you haven’t heard hyram say it when most of the time he’s stated those things in his yt vids. No hate to hyram I love him and his channel I know he can’t control them but some of them should chill and maybe watch his yt videos. I love to watch hyram and many other skincare people to get different options about things and they just depend on his 60 second videos

Hyram is not lying!!!! My late great aunt (Korean, Malaysian) paid extra for Korean beauty products to be delivered every month. She was 87 when she passed she looked in her 40’s. Even the mortician and the person who did the autopsy said they had to do a double take on her age!!! It’s worth it. My mother is 65 and looks 40’s. I am 25 but I look 13 without makeup.

I agree with a lot of this! As someone who lives in South Korea, though, I see the thousands of products available everywhere. Another issue is the vast majority of products include fragrance and sorting through things takes time. Also, I've noticed sometimes that the products that are made/sold here are actually sometimes different from the ones you talk about that are sent to the US (this is especially true for makeup). 😭 But I'm really so grateful to live close to it all

I find it so weird how some people consider skincare to be too much of a 'luxury' and it's too too 'fancy' but practically endorse makeup that is way more expensive than a really good cleanser... I've had people tell me how it's a bit ridiculous of me to have a 5 step skincare routine but not wear make-up...😑😑😑
@gogumadalpaengi
@gogumadalpaengi 3 года назад
I've even been criticised for wearing sunscreen every single day of the year. I mean, make up doesn't do anything for your skin (okay, some brands have those enriched formula foundations but I wouldn't exactly rely on that...) and, well... Sooner or later, most skins WILL show how well they were taken care of, in comparison.

One thing I hate about Western brands, particularly French, is that they boast about their "key ingredient" and the moment you look at the ingredients list it's RIGHT AT THE BOTTOM. I hate French skincare mostly because they just ride on the fact that they're French and nothing else and people lap it up. "Scientific skincare" is another boat I want to set on fire because they put the prices up (I'm looking at you Zelens) or make them hard to get your hands on to create percieved value (Biologique Recherche) just because they claim to be "scientifically approved" when ALL skincare is like that. I found Korean skincare when I was 15, I'm 27 now, and haven't looked back. Korean skincare will forever be my favourite until Western skincare gets its act together.

brazilian here! i love your skincare videos and i've learned so much from them. it's kind of hard to find actual good skincare products in my country, mostly because our government is very corrupt so there are almost no regulations and companies can put anything they want inside their products. and that goes even for american and other foreign brands (brands like cerave and neutrogena for example are expensive as hell btw, even though they're basic), bc once they start making their products in here they change to cheaper ingredients. i've been using almost exclusively korean skincare products for the last two years because even though the shipping takes some time they're relatively affordable & have better ingredients than the stuff we have here.

Korean skincare saved my skin for 10 years now. I no longer struggle with skin problems at all. I have the skin at age 40 that I thought I could only dream of without any injections or plastic surgery. I have been so grateful to discover it and have access to the amazing benefits that are within Korean skincare for my very sensitive dry skin. I feel that the quality of product I receive for the extreme low price compared to American luxury brands is absolutely the best way to spend my money and help my skin. I feel American skincare companies rob the American public for products that are inferior to Korean skincare. We should continue to buy our products from Korea until American products can meet or exceed the quality and definitely compete with the price of Korean products. Don't settle for less my friends. You're skin and you wallet deserves the best. Also btw the shipping with proper planning has never been an issue for me. I keep two on hand of each product I use (this is possible for me because they are so much more inexpensive. I also made this investment as a present to myself and so should you.) Once I switch to my backup bottle I order more of that product. To this day I have never run out of product.

I think another downside of Korean skincare is that some of the products I have come across have whitening agents (whether explicitly labelled or otherwise). As a dark-skinned Korean-American, my darker skin color has visibly lightened after I used some of these products. Perhaps for some people this is desirable, but I personally try to avoid these products, since I do not want lighter skin.

I'm from Argentina and thanks to you, I've learnt to read the ingredients of the products I have and buy from local labs and now I'm able to make a choice based in what they do have and not in how expensive or luxurious they are (or the other way around, being skeptical about the label in cheap and popular products when the benefits they claim to have are actually at the very end of the list!!!). Plus, brands like Cerave, The Inkey list, Clinique, the Ordinary, etc are hard to find, and if you do find them, they are EXTREMELY expensive due to import taxes + seller earnings (like, a 10 dollar product costs the equivalent of 40 or more here, and inflation is a bitch). So yeah, THANK YOU!

Been using Asian skin care products for years. I attribute them to looking a bit younger than I am. However, I do stick to my Cerave moisturizer as I live in a cold climate 9 months out of the year--very cold & snowy! One convert is my son, who I finally got on a simple skin care routine. He loves the products--a niacinimide serum with Neem & a Neem Hydrating Face Wash. It's great for his acne & complexion. The Asian products just have superior ingredients.

Why I prefer Korean skincare products over American skincare products: 1. American skincare is not quite trustable just because they tend to put so much synthetic, toxic, and unsourced ingredients in their products. 2. And speaking of ingredients, Korean ingredients tend to be nutrient-dense, all herb or plant base while we have these sketchy USA skincare products that are probably just mostly water, or worst, even animal-tested (not cruelty-free) 3. The innovation and technology in the manufacturing of Korean skincare products are WAY MORE advanced 4. Korean skincare focus more on health for the skin in the long run, whereas US skincare products are more into abrasive exfoliation and surface cover-ups 5. High quality, luxury-level Korean skincare products are cheaper compared to the American skincare products most rich people use. *btw, I use ATOMY brand because this is the Korean brand that is very accessible in the US and actually has stores and consumer benefits

You soak you do a scrub on your body. They have the multi step packs you carry in with you. It's the best experience. And it won't break the bank. It's like $7 for the whole day there vs $45 in the US. I share this story to share about how self care is the culture there.

@@parisinthe30sx I do like Frudia moisturizers. It is not heavy and gel-like, so hopefully it'll be suitable for combo skin. If you need heavier moisturization, let me know. But, this one is not greasy, so it seems like it will be up your alley. Koreans often use BB creams, which is far more popular than tinted moisturizers. Would trying a BB cream be too much coverage? Also, let me know what you prefer in skin care. Are you absolutely against fragrance/perfume? Do you prefer physical sunblock over chemical sunscreen (because BB creams/tinted moisturizers usually come with spf)?

as someone with HELLA red and sensitive skin I can say with confidence from personal experience that certain Korean skincare products really made a difference. Unfortunately in the US it's difficult to find products with high concentrations of mugwort, honey, green tea extract, etc. and if you find a product it's INCREDIBLY expensive. Korean products have high high concentrations of those ingredients and at a good price. 11/10 would recommend but please be careful because there are also a lot of Korean skincare products that will DELETE your skin so please do your research (especially some peel off masks damn those suck)
