James did not disrespect them. If you think so you have a 15 year old mindset that's it. How on earth is saying "15 year old girls are going crazy" disrespecting BTS or the fandom? Doesn't the fandom have an insane amount of teens? Is it so bad to associate something with teens? 15 yr olds were indeed going crazy and there's nothing wrong with addressing that part of the fandom. If you think that was offensive, it clearly shows you are one of those people who believe associating something with teens is disrespectful and that is the only thing that's foul here.

I have observed this so much just stanning BTS for few years but if GIRLS are passionate about something aka bands, we are crazy, insane. But you never heard of those implying about sport fans do you (which are dominated by MEN). BACK TO MY POINT, OUR FANDOM IS DIVERSE OF GENDER, AGE, AND RACE. Putting us in a box of "15 year old girls" IS DISRESPECTFUL.

@@pigeonheadspace "doesnt the fandom have an insane amount of teens?" yes. but we also have an 'insane' amount of people in their 20s, 30s, and 40s. most are in their 20s, but we're quite evenly distributed. people belittle us by calling us all 15-year-old screaming teenage girls, when we are so much more than that. it's not that we don't think being associated with teens is disrespectful. it's because they are saying it to downgrade bts' and army's success and hard work, to disrespect us.

@@lye5838 You are missing my point here. I have heard the sports fans analogy a lot but they aren't the ones trending on twitter every second of the day . The fandom is diverse but its predominantly teens and young adults. I'm aware of the stereotype, but if you know James has previously praised this fandom for their many good deeds. He never boxed anyone in. In the context of the UN situation, many were going crazy on twitter, so him cracking that joke (albeit overused and annoying) isn't something "offensive" like the fans claimed. James is an entertainer who's known for cracking curt jokes. He's meant to crack jokes that irk people. Its common there and till now no fandom of a western artist has had a problem with it because they understand the purpose of it, though its unnecessary. ARMY however serms to have a problem with literally anything that doesn't fit the stereotypical mould of "polite". Even going as far as cancelling him . People being upset is one thing, but the way eveyone was so quick to go after this man's career? It just further paints the fandom in a negative light with how far y'all are willing to take something like this to. The joke is not tasteful or pleasant like many of such stuff James say during sessions like that, but its not something that is worth cancelling someone's career for.

@@rebe_eka The fandom is predominantly teens and young adults. Presence of a large number of 40 year olds still doesn't change that fact. In fact, its the same for many kpop groups since kpop in general is catered towards teens and young adults. From the album concepts to their personas. I agree its wrong to classify the fandom as 15 year old screaming girls. But hasn't James praised the fandom so much, pointed out our charities and such. In the context of the UN performance, twitter was blowing up and people were going crazy, so joking about about that doesn't seem wrong at all. It might not be the most pleasant of jokes as the 15 yr old stereotype is definitely being involved, but it's in no way offensive.

His twitter mentions were filled with thousands of armys telling him their ages and what the did for a living, and writing think pieces about how what he said was harmful, misogynistic and how we thought he knew better. There were no death threats. At least none with any actual interaction. Army are 100% against them because of how kpop stans use them against bts. It was most likely some fake troll account because no one has any screenshots proof there were, not even bts antis. James mentioning dts over the thousands of legitimate criticism he got for what he said is him trying to discredit our concerns and is an excuse not to apologise
