Probably one of the first on-camera things he did like this & he was pretty young too.... this was a while back. He certainly doesn’t have that shyness anymore.
Some of the other musicians in Snarky Puppy started in church where I attend and they have not left it .. their music is for everyone and music made by people who love the talent they have. Wonderful Musicians.. Corey Henry you are a God given talent. Stay Strong..
I‘ve been a huge Chick Corea fan for 50 years, and yes, he’s pretty versatile. But Cory is even more versatile due to his gospel background. He‘s the keyboard genius if this century.
@@stormbreaker9436Some people should try reopening their real book, or go checking and comparing the discographies of the two players. Nope, Corey ain't got nothing on that output, not even close! Chick already did it all, from classical, to prog to jazz fusion and did not refrain from citing elements of gospel or soul music in albums like music magic. Chick is one of the three legendary fusion players, alongside Keith Jarret and Herbie Hancock. My former professor and piano teacher, a two time Grammy nominee did agree with me in this. He consider Chick as an all-round technically better improvisor and as a vastly greater and more innovative composer.
Anybody else notice how he's continually rocking while he's talking?? I notice a lot of good musicians and singers do that, it must be their creative juices flowing.
That's likely a symptom of autism. I'm not "diagnosing" him because I don't know any more about him than most people. However, given his unusual abilities at such an early age, his ability to focus at such an early age, and again, the classic symptom of rocking, I'm willing to bet he has high functioning autism, a.k.a., Asperger's or some other form. There are varying degrees and manifestations of autism as unique as the person who has it. I was recently diagnosed, myself, over the past year and I'm in my mid 40's now. (NO, - sadly, I don't play like Cory, though I was better than all of my peers when I was a kid and I picked it up quickly.) Many exceptional people in the arts, sciences and engineering have it. There are trade-offs, of course. But if it meant you could play like Cory, would you care? Didn't think so! It's these exceptional people that inspire the masses and set the bar for the rest of us.
its also a Korg ad for the Austrian patch, cause its over 200USD to buy after you get the X, I know I have a KX and its fucked considering the money we spend on the board to have to fork out more, all I can say is thank you for torrents, found it any way with out the cash transfer...
I want that Austrian Grand Piano for my Kronos X 88, but it's a bit too expensive for me at the moment. I will wait until the price drops a bit. Love this keyboard by the way. I had been practicing on my KX88 all week, and when i went to church today I didn't take it, so i decided to play my Fantom and the piano sounds all sounded so weak and lifeless, Kudos Korg!
Hi, Have u ever played on a Kronos? I do because i have one and the "pedal noise" adds texture to the piano sound. you can also hear the damper lift on the strings. This is an extraordinary instrument. I love it a use it every day :)
Big Kronos fan but the sounds and action on the Pro level Casios Privia pro PX 5S or PX 560 are up there on the sounds and action for a quarter/third of the price BUT the Kronos does have so many features including a great Set List facility and, the very valuable to me, Aftertouch (NOT the Kronos LS ) I have just bought a Korg Kronos 2 so not knocking them but the Casios are truly astonishing value for money and should have that recognition Recommended if budget doesn't stretch to the Kronos I have absolutely no commercial ties to Casio but huge respect
If we are talking strictly Piano's, Korg still has that boxiness in its pianos. You hear a piano and know automatically it's Korg. I personally stick with Roland and Yamaha for Piano's. But for EP's I Yamaha has indeed fell behind a bit.
I like that people make batter sample libraries for the Yamaha Motif because Yamaha Motif samples are sounds for the type of music I like to make,Roland is to scary and secretive that's why they don't let no one make libraries, the Korg Kronos has that dream theater sound not saying that dream theater music is bad sounding but its not the type of music for my genre.
I'm not sure if you've been through the entire Integra7 library, or at least the EP section. What I'm saying has nothing to do with expansions. I'm talking about the keyboards/modules in their pure state, right out the box. At the moment, Roland and Korg are way ahead of Yamaha in the Piano and EP department. I agree that Neo Soul Keys is a great library. But do you know why we have Neo Soul Keys today? The original project was to create better rhodes for the Motif cause Yamaha kept failing
Not sure if your question is 1) what is the name of the song fragment he was playing or 2) in the patch he's using, what instrument other than strings is he using? Please elaborate.
Does anyone have the chords/ progression for the opening 20 seconds? I know someone has made a tutorial or something...? Sounds like a George Duke type of groove...
Yamaha needs to start hiring guys like him to play their boards. Dont get me wrong Bert is Hilarious but he aint got it like this guy. The person playing the keys is what makes it sound good.
well he could endorse any keyboard, because he is that good. But he chose to endorse the Korg, I wonder why? maybe because it just sounds amazing! and yes I'll say it, even better than a yamaha....
I think that's where are argument lies. As stock keyboards, Yamaha is falling back a little bit. Their Pianos and EP's have broken much new ground in comparison to the Piano's that Roland produces and the EP sections from both Korg and Roland.
Korg and Roland expansions sample sound libraries suck compared to the Motif xf well not so much Korg but Roland does, I dont even think Roland make sample libraries for the Fantom G series, like I said Neo-Soul Keys is one of the best sounding EP's out right now, Roland came out with Integra-7 which has something like over a 6,000 sounds but what good is it to have all those sounds if 5,000 of the sounds suck?
Yamaha has lost their edge with pianos. They have 1 generic sound. They have very little flexibility because they only sample 1 piano, the C7 and its bright by design. List to even a "Dark piano" patch on Yamaha products and it's still bright. And as it stands right now, Korg and Roland have Yamaha beat for EP's. Have you heard the EP's in the Kronos? And now that Roland dropped the Integra-7, I checked it out and the EP's in that thing are so raw, it makes you want to play all day.
This guy did not look like he was comfortable doing this interview. He's fidgeting, rocking back and forth, running into brick walls with his speech - Was he just nervous or what?
How can a man bring the gospel to the unsaved if he keeps his gift only in church? Let his gift be a testament to how God blesses His people to the whole world! Listening to snarky puppy made me check out Cory's church background, and inspired my spirit... Not everybody is in the church my brother Mark 16:15 He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation." In Cory's case, his music, his gift is his testimony
Yeah, please keep the talent and message inside the church walls, let's not get out there and spread it in any way or show/testify your faith by going in to the big bad world outside the church. Some of you _really_ need to get a life and understanding of the Gospel which is ALL about getting it out there and sharing! IMO Church is where you ARE and not where you go.
There is nothing wrong with him exploring to share his gifts and talents with the outside world. He does not have a gift to be exclusively heard in the church only. The world need to enjoy his gift in its diversity and entirety.
