This is another short teaser for the Korg Kronos, showing a couple of audio demos where I'm playing the parts for Rebel Yell and Take On Me, as well as describing how the parts are laid out and what some of the neat features are of my sound pack.

Here's a quick freebie sound for anyone that has the Kronos already: dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/49099211/TAKEONMEBASS.PCG This is the bass sound used from the song "Take On Me" on the DX-7 (or very close to it) and put in the Kronos with a little effects magic to make it sound just like the real thing. Enjoy!

Dave, I'm looking for one particular 80's song sound. "You Should Hear How She Talks About You." Not the guitar sounding part. I'll play that on guitar with a lot of chorus. The synth part. I'm currently using a sound from "Bette Davis Eyes" that doesn't sound quite right. Any ideas?

Dave, You were kind enough to respond some months back to my questions about paid lessons, etc. Hey, Man I don't want to push my luck & ask you to DONATE another minute of time outta your busy life, but before I even ask for a chance to purchase some, I have to ask...ARE you still teaching? & 2.) I'm specifically at a hurdle involving my Kronos 88 LS in partnership with the Helicon VL3 Extreme (harmonizer). Do you have any experience with that or the VL3 or just getting a top end harmonizer to not "boss around" your keyboard? I just want the harmonizer for vocals but I have to go in so the VL3X can access my chords for the right keys for harmony. Do you or anybody on your team tutor for such skills? ...By the way, as if you didn't know? You're amazing! I show people your clips & they give me those looks that say - "Johnny, Um, YOU have a Kronos...Wassup with that?" LOL

Hey there! I do still give lessons absolutely, though I'm afraid I have very little experience with the Helicon VL3 Extreme pedal. I have worked with the Voicelive Play pedal but my experience is pretty limited. That said, I'm happy to try and help out however I can. I know that the VLPlay has an audio input and can try and interpret the chord from the instruments to determine the key of the chord and harmonize accordingly but it depends really on what you're doing with it to be honest. Hi, Dave! Somewhere around a year ago you mentioned that you (occasionally?) offer brief, specific, one-on-one tutoring? I STILL am owned by the SET LIST feature. It's a great feature, but one that keeps road-blocking me. It insists on calling "Set List One" "Set list TWO" for example, & I'm afraid I'll have another disaster where I lose lots of work if I use the option in the window it offers me to correct. Any help? I'd be happy to pay for the benefit of your mastery of this complex "gadget." I watch tutorials & still flounder.

As a quick fix, to keep things rolling, if I just let EVERYTHING be on SET LIST ONE, or "1st set, as I "imaginatively" named it, I can get on w/life. I know: that's as dumb as it looks & sounds, but I can't get over that hump no matter how many tutorials I watch. "Sad," I know. Good to know you're there. I'll decide in the next couple days about how soon to try getting what I know would be some of your great 1-on-1 help. I'll want to have my questions organized! - Thanks, again! You're amazing, Man!

Super cool patches. I've been thinking of doing a bunch of Devo patches in a similar fashion. Just curious, what are you using your Fadeport for? DAW control? Or do you use it to control stuff on the Kronos?

Thanks Mike - Totally for DAW control - I don't do a lot of tracking multiple tracks at a time, so I just use it for the DAW when I'm recording. Easier than trying to remember all the keyboard shortcuts.

Yes, there's no dependency on the stock sounds at all; everything is built from scratch to make everything as accurate as possible. The sounds will work on all versions of the Kronos

I wish they'd fix the aftertouch on the Kronos. There's a reason dude used his thumb to access it. The sounds are great.

Dave. I am having the hardest time to get the darn thing to loop. It keeps stopping at the point were I hit stop. I have it set to loop every four measures. And my preference is on overdud . What am I doing wrong?

Dave how do you change the tempo in auto mode. It keeps going back to 120bpm when I hit record.

But the keyboard on the video is a Kronos, not a Krome. The sounds in the video won't work on a Krome, they're Kronos only.

Sorry, the Krome doesn't have the necessary sounds or sound engines to be able to make this pack, and can only be found on the Kronos.

I'm working on it daily, and was originally hoping for early March but it looks like it might take a little longer, though I'm doing some of the harder songs first so it might be faster. Either way, I'm aiming for early March anyway. Thanks for asking!

Hi Alex, great question. Unfortunately while the Oasys sounds work on the Kronos, Kronos sounds won't work on the Oasys. There's things like the SGX2 engine among others that don't exist on the Oasys despite it being a really excellent workstation.

These sounds are great -- for Take on Me, I don't think you need to limit polyphony though, as the player can always just not play a note.

Done a very fine job, Sir (Audora Audio)...from where-ever you may come from! Your explanation is very clear and easy to follow and I sense a lot of dedication, brought in all seriousness. There are always those who think it's so necessary to spit out non-engaged critics...these critics won't inspire you, me...but just focus on the real KORG-lovers and make music from the heart...as a Western European, your passionate presentation is very easy to follow, done in a natural way...compliments for that and avoid the negative...just go on with being yourself!
