The Monotron Classic is the go to for bass and kick drums. Lots of resonance, use the LFO to control, low cutoff - you have a seismic event on you hands. The delay - superb for adding interest to your mix, it's a monster for making dub and dirty industrial sounds - the Duo is a master for pads and drones. There's my use cases. I own all 3 😊
So funny I had all three and sadly sold them all That was silly CAuze the monotrone is going for way higher than I initially payed I also sold my mono tribe why or why Well it helped fund my Rav Vast lol Great shootout ! I still don't know which one I like better !!
I should've known you'd chime in on this one. LOL. I love the Monotribe and they're getting hard to find. As you point out... a lot of these little analog devices are going for more on the used market. I need to find one of the Monotron Duos so I can have all three. Such cool little gadgets.
@@musicalmiscellany yup I had all 4! And now none lol too many other things attracted me and something had to go ha ha But like my korg microsampler and my novation mini nova and regular nova and Alesis micron they were used to fun other instruments Oh I also had the bass station two lol
@@musicalmiscellany yeah I always sold one to get one though and the only one I never sold is the microkorgS well actually I had the original and sold it and bought the one with the speaker and more memory slots!! I also kept my reface DX and CS and Now have the Wavestate :) and little guys like the Kaoss or the Nintendo korg dS :)
That tuner must have had a really tough tike figuring out the notes lol. Here, here, have a cookie. Also I like the OG monotron as some sort of stylophone but without quantized pitch, so the analog circuit getting warm and changing pitch doesnt really matter.
